Positive news yesterday, my ca125 has gone down from 166 in October to 18 ,this is after four cycles of caelyx and Carboplatin , I found the last cycle very tough and was ready to give up , but the reduction has made it worth while ,Had my fifth yesterday then one more to go before I get a break , I'm really pleased , I was feeling very low ,this has perked me up.

Cheryl. I’m so pleased for you. I had my third infusion of carbo Caelyx last week. My CA125 is down from 152 to 33. I’ve got a CT scan in two weeks to see if liver mets have shrunk. Onc wants to see a 30 % reduction. I thought I was managing decently until my 3rd infusion last week. I was lying in bed unable to sleep from pain and like you, I was feeling like throwing in the towel, but your post has encouraged me. I will speak with my onc to see if anything can be done to help me endure. Thanks for sharing your good news, and may 2022 be good to you. Sashay
So pleased to hear it is working for you too ,I found the weakness and fatigue the worst last time and I got bad mouth ulcers for the first time ,hope you scan is what you're hoping for ,I think it will be . Keep going .Cheryl x
Sashay, I am sorry you’re having a tough time with the chemo. Have you connected with palliative care? It seems like they should be able to help with the pain. Xx
Thanks, Delia. I met with palliative care. The woman told me to use a heating pad for my stomach pain, which emanates from my digestive system. Not helpful and Does not instill confidence in the future. I have signed up for meditation and also yoga classes. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽 Sashay
Well done Cheryl for keeping going . I am really pleased for you that your CA125 has reduced down to 18.You need to treat yourself to something nice. Take care.x
Hello, that’s a huge drop in your CA125, wonderful news. 👍👏👏 definitely worth doing something to mark the good news.
I will be having my 4th cycle of Caelyx and Carboplatin next week, really hoping my CA125 will drop a decent amount too ( have just had 4th covid vaccine, so not sure if this will have an impact on it).
Just recently had scan results back - after 2 cycles it showed that things were stable so not growing, am taking the positives from that !!!
Will you be offered any further treatment after you finish the 6 cycles of Caelyx and Carboplatin as I was told there isn’t anything else available (was on Niraparib for 11 months before a reoccurrence hence being on chemo now) ?
Enjoy your celebrations 🫖🍰 and maybe a glass of something nice🍹🍷xx
Thank you flute .Hope you do well on caeleyx and Carboplatin too ,weekly taxol was mentioned next but nothing definate ,my oncologist doesn't tent to commit to anything till all results are in , so that will be after my break ,he has suggested a possible three month after my sixth cycle . X
Great news Cheryl keep up the good work. That combination had the opposite effect on me and made matters worse so I'm really pleased it's working for you. Sue xx
Hi CherylSo pleased to hear your good news. Well done for getting yourself through that tough regime. Just one more to get through!! Enjoy a lovely lunch out you’ve certainly earned it!
Thats brill need Cheryl which proves the chemo us doing its job. Well done persevering through this I know it's not easy. Keep up the positivity.. All the best. June. Xxx
So glad it works, Cheryl. Was worried as you said you're struggling with the current regimen. Not much longer now, and then you'll hopefully be in for a breather.. where you can be more yourself again. Hugs. xx. Maus
So happy for you Cheryl. I'm also on that chemo combo + Avastin & about to have my 5th of 6. I also wanted to stop but I know it will be worth the effort & what an effort it has been so far !Good luck to you for the rest of your treatment. I'll be thinking of you. We've got this 👭 💜
Spooky, exactly same for me but after ct and bloods good ( scan clear and ca125 good) due to awful side effects from this combination decision to have carbo only for cycle 5. Am not likely to have final one as causing total havoc with stoma and brain fog . My neutrophils were really low , between 0.5 and 0.9 despite the filigrastim injections after each cycle. Keep us posted xx
Sounds like you results are really good ,( clear scan ) my half way scan was a reduction , shame youvy had such problems with neutrophils etc , wishing you well .x
That's so hard I remember those days well. I'm having Avastin every 3 weeks and what a difference this drug is. Will you stop cycles now as your ca125 has gone down x
I've had my fifth ,one more to go ,but my oncologist said I don't have to have the last one if I don't want to ,but my hope is to have it and get my ca down as much as possible before I have a break .xx
Can't remember now , never really high ,in the hundreds I think , I was diagnosed 2019 ,six cycles ,surgery , three more cycles then Ned , recurrence after nine months ,now on fourth line , maintenance ( Rubraca) didn't work for me .
Cheryl, I am delighted to hear your news & we all need to hear the positive wins against this dreadful disease as well as supporting each other when the news is not so good. I hope you have treated yourself after getting through the tough times along the way. 🤞You stay healthy & well 🥰 Mag
Thank you Mag ,I'm struggling a bit with this last chemo , number five, but should be over the worst in a few days , keep reminding myself I'll have a break soon ,you take care .xx
I'm not sure yet , I'm better not knowing or I'd stress about it , I'll put a post on when it's decided ,I'm going to try and enjoy my break . Cheryl .
