Hello all;
Just a brief note to encourage all those newly positive for Ovarian Cancer.
My wife discovered she was ill 7 years ago. While to me it seems like yesterday, we are told this is a long time to survive with stage 4.
The path has been very hard, I won't lie about that, but today we are living a good life with the disease still present.
There have been numerous surgeries; even a brain tumor! I have seen her in tears only twice. Such a brave lady.
A long list of chemo's, trials, radiation, diet changes, supplements, mental therapy, massage therapy, searching for the right doctors....... it's too much to recall all of it.
I have been at her side the entire time, and I know that she has turned this struggle into a full-time job. She knows so much about the disease; far more than I could ever know.
In a word, she has become her own best health advocate.
Care Oncology, Jane's 'starving cancer' book, Joe Tippins protocol, a massive prayer circle and so much more have all taken part in her long survival this far.
Today, she is looking great, and we are heading out to a family gathering. Yes, there were times when this didn't look like it would happen, but she's doing well.
The tumors are still here, and growing. We don't know the future, but if I know her like I think I do, she's gonna be with us a lot longer.
So, take heart. A cure might not be in your future, but living WITH cancer might actually be possible. It changes everything...... everything..... in your life, but with really hard work, you can extend your days to be there for the ones that love you.
Merry Christmas.
