Is immunotherapy worthwhile having for Ovarian/Peritoneal cancer?
I have completed 8 rounds of chemo including a year of Avastin. Previously the ca was considered to be inoperable but following the treatments I'm now being referred to a surgeon. Thank you!

Hello jenjill. I think my diagnosis is similar to yours high grade serous carcinoma in peritoneal area. I’ve had 6 chemo sessions and nearly completed 18 sessions of avastin. I was told at the beginning that it was inoperable as too widespread. My last scan was clear and I will ask my oncologist if it could be operated on now. How do you feel about having an operation if it’s offered to you.
My oncologist said that ovarian cancer doesn't respond well to immunotherapy. I only know personally of one lady who has had it and it didn't work out.
I would look into other options, there's plenty more out there! x
There are different types of Immunotherapy, Avastin is a type of Immunotherapy. Car T Cell Immunotherapy is still in the development stage for solid tumors so I'm sure that's not what's being offered. You need to get more information about what's on offer. Take care and good luck Sue xx
