Feeling very lucky

Good afternoon lovely ladies I hope you are all doing well.

I have just returned from an appointment with my oncologist to discuss my PET scan results.

There is no sign of disease. I feel so incredibly lucky. She told me it is rare for people diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer to have such a good response to chemo. I finished chemo in April last year and Avastin in January.

Will have a blood test in six months just before my next appointment with her no scan unless bloods look iffy.

I know things are not so good for all of you, but know how reading good news lifts my spirits and hope that for those starting out on their journey that this gives a little hope.

Sending you all my very best wishes and hope your Christmas and new year is filled with love and hope.

Joy ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

I can remember about a year ago feeling very low and reading a post from a lady who was diagnosed as stage 4 OC 20 years ago and still well and living life to the full. That really helped to lift my spirits and dare to hope that there was a future.

Sending hugs

What a wonderful outcome it fills me with hope as diagnosed Oct with oc 4. What exactly was your diagnosis and did you also have op. Delighted for you have a wonderful xmas๐ŸŽ„

JayGeeCee profile image
JayGeeCee in reply to Madmolly

Thank you. I was admitted for suspected bowel cancer as I had pain and constipation . When they tried a colonoscopy they couldnโ€™t do it as bowel was compressed.

Operation in August 2017 revealed widespread cancer all over left ovary, Fallopian tube, ureter and on the bowel. It wasnโ€™t until the lab results came back that OC was identified as the cause. PET scan revealed it was in both lungs as well.

I live in France and to be honest it was quite difficult at the start because my French is not fluent. I had no idea there were different types of OC. So I didnโ€™t ask the questions that I might have done.

I have had a very good response to the chemo which started in the November. I then had Avastin until January this year when I decided to stop as Iโ€™d had enough.

I have been incredibly lucky.

I hope things go well for you, do keep in touch.

Have a great Christmas. Iโ€™ll keep everything crossed for you.
