Ovarian cancer reoccurred in 3 months of HIPEC surgery

Hi All,

My mom 45 yr dx mucinous adenocarcinoma ovarian cancer, undergone 6 cycles of carbo + paclitaxel ,which didnt hep and disease progressed.

She had undergone CRS + HIPEC in april,2019 and started bevacizumab(avastin) + gemcitabine chemo 30 days ago(took 2 cycles).

We did an ultrasound to check a scar tissues, but found new lesions, just after 3 months of huge surgery.

She had MSI HIGH and Tumor Burden High.

Any one here had good response with AVASTIN?

I had a great response to Avastin but I had had a partial response to Chemo just prior to it and it was for maintenance. Perhaps the detail in your post above re Avastin may be helpful - I do hope so. All the best to you and you Mum. X

Thanks San..my mom is also taking fenbendazole and off label drugs.hopefuly these will block pathways.

I also took Salvestrols. No idea if they were effective but I'm still here despite recurrences. I'm currently on a trial which is bringing my ca125 down in incredible leaps (weekly Taxol and cediranib) from 10,780 to 180!! X

I don't know if your mom is a candidate for intraperitinel chemotherapy, IP, it's done in the US, but not everyone is a candidate. Sorry I have never been on avastin. Google and find the best cancer centers near you to get more options.❤❤Liz
