I had a borderline ovarian tumour removed with my ovaries and tubes last March. Then they found a 3 cms nodule near the uterus. I went to the consultant gynaecologist yesterday who tried to do a biopsy on my womb. I must be soft as he couldn’t do it. It was so painful despite my deep breathing so the plan is to have a laparoscopy in January to remove the nodule and surrounding area and take biopsies of the omemtom. If the nodule is suspect, i’ll Have to go back to remove the uterus. I am happy with that but I forgot to ask how long does it take to go back to work after a laparoscopy? Work must be fed up with me taking all this time off. They know I can’t help it but still, I feel so guilty.

I am sure others will advise you about the laparotomy but please don’t feel guilty about protecting yourself from this ghastly illness. Take your time...work can wait xx L
Laparoscopy generally about 4 weeks if you feel up to it.
Did you have a hystescopy? I believe they can be really painful so you are not being soft. I have a friend that has been involved in campaigning for better pain management during this procedure.
Hello again. I had my letter for my op yesterday. I come back from my hols on January 7th, pre op on the 9th and op on 15th. It is all so quick. I asked about recovery and it is 4 weeks. I have felt so ill since September with IBS C, colitis and thyroid problems but now after following the FODMAP diet and put on low dose carbimazole for my thyroid, I feel fine. So am I in delusion mode? I still believe this nodule is nothing and my CA 125 is 8. The surgeon said he doesn’t want to take the uterus out as it is a longer recovery if not necessary. I’ll hang on to that.
