Having endured major surgery and five months of chemotherapy that finished end of January I was told last month that I am 'cured'. Not terminology that I expected to hear from my oncologist!
I am now nearing the end of a three week trip to Florida, my hair is over an inch long and I can now look to the future.
Apart from the worry of quarterly CA125 tests, which fly in the face of the 'cured' verdict, the only challenge left to face is losing the weight I have put on.
So for those of you who are currently struggling with this horrible journey, take heart, it does get better.

What a lovely post to wake up to! So happy for you! m at the other end of the journey for now, still at the diagnosis stage, with an ovarian mass and a worrying CA125 result, Your profile caught my attention as we are apparently geographically close, I had a CT scan (also at Churchill) yesterday so waiting on news for now. Your post has really made me smile, thank you and Happy Easter!
That's interesting as I'm in Wokingham so if I need chemo it would be good if it could be closer to home. Was the Bracknell health space an option for you for the chemo?
I was given the option of Bracknell or reading for chemo with consultant appointments at reading but decided to stick with reading.
I went to Bracknell for the look good feel better workshop and also for one blood test. It is much easier for parking and a nice bright space. The chemo team is the same. All the nurses have been lovely.
It's a small world! I used to work in the village school in Hurst! If I end up needing chemo I'd probably try and opt for Bracknell (as husband works 5 minutes away, but wonder if I could keep consultant care at Churchill..... still, I'm getting ahead of myself, results first!
My consultant was at reading to start with and I was referred to Churchill for surgery only as they have the combined hysterectomy and oncology specialist surgeons

It's always good when we can read positive posts and it gives encouragement to those of us who are going through the turmoil of diagnosis, surgery and chemo. I'm well over 2 years in remission and still have 6 monthly blood checks which are important and it's reassuring to know we're still being monitored and looked after. Hi Great to read your post and I wish other oncologists were as encouraging and positive. I have same histology and stage as you and without being told, I felt "cured" . However the insistence on 3 monthly survelliance, keeps dragging me back into the system and psychologically it's setting me back as I just want to get on with my life. Personally I just want to see the medics if I have symptoms(ie on my terms) but that's just not on......I have decided to be compliant for now....good luck on your recovery journey
I think for now I still need the reassurance of the next couple of blood tests to be able to fully put this behind me but I can understand where you are coming from
