I know Mandy it's unreal!!! Have a temp cast until ortho clinic on Monday! Think I will see if I can get a Teal cast๐๐alternatively pink to match my new nails!!!!๐๐๐
Can't wait till I have the energy to go and get my nails done. It makes u feel so nice to have well manicured nails, and painted pink, bet they look amazing. Teal or pink for the cast, both will look great.
I'm having my first chemo after the op tomorrow, just carbo to start with. Then two carbo taxol and that's it, I'm on countdown now 6 weeks to finish line if all goes to plan. So not too much longer before I will be sat having my nails done. Hoping to get away at the end of August too, just somewhere quite local to start. I just keep thinking the finish line is in sight.
Hope you are doing well other than breaking things,
If you get a funky colour cast we need pictures ๐

So sorry to hear this, but you're not alone!
We had a family break between surgery and chemo starting for breast cancer. I fell on the ice and broke my wrist. Interesting to see the inside of a German hospital, but not really what we had in mind!
I feel your pain. I had OC in 2014, and my life has become a comedy of errors. The latest is when I dropped a 26 pound solid brass lamp on my foot Feb. 2nd this year. I'm on Coumadin, a blood thinner, for a clotting problem discovered when I had a stroke in 2008. So my foot reacted badly to this insult, turning every color of blue possible and really hurting,. As I thought it should be healing, it started turning red and became more painful. I had cellulitis. I felt like I needed to be wrapped in "cotton wool" as my mother used to say. But no calamities since that took its sweet time healing. No more mishaps for you, my dear. Take care, Nesie237
No way! OMG... defo colour co-ordination is a must! Great having new nails and good for you! Sorry to hear and hope you're ok ish.. must be very painful. All the best Michelle xx
So sorry to read your post!! I believe the chemo can make your bones weaker so that could of had something to do with it! hope it mends soon xx
I feel for you I fell last Sunday and sprained my ankle very badly and on Friday found out the bigger is back in my bladder round 3 here we come and just to top that my lovely husband of 36 years is in hospital having chemo prior to a stem cell transplant for luekemia๐ณ goo bird of fate needs to bugged off and drop bad luck somewhere distant hope your treatment goes well and your wrist heals soon. We are all seasoned fighters and our battle cry is never give up๐
Oh you poor thing. I'm such a klutz at the moment and so spacy I can see how easy it would be to fall or drop something. Take Lots of care of yourself. T. X
Sorry to hear about your recent unscheduled trip to hospital. I find that the ' ordinary ' encounters with the medical profession more stressful than they would be in the pre big C days. I had a very bad foot infection recently and I found that waiting for the antibiotics to work upset me more than waiting for chemo to work ! That's just me D and I am sure with your positive attitude its just a blip. I have done the broken wrist thing a few years ago so I got very expert at being left handed. Onward and upward but not too fast this time !
Oh Dee! What a thing to happen. I am so sorry this has happened but hope it is a clean break that will mend without complications. We will all be thinking of you.
May I tentatively suggest you take more water with your drink next time lol, only joking!. What a time you are having. Hope you get over this soon. Kathy xxx
HI D so sorry to hear you ended up in hospital with a broken wrist. I think you should go for a teal cast, I doubt if they will match your nail colour but you can ask? It never rains but it pours. Here I am after hip xray and mri, the report floated down to the Oncology team so its inflamation. So the last words the Oncologist said to me in May was " I can see you are not impressed and you dont want to see a Rheumatologist so therefore you wont be going back to your gp for results and referral. I laughed and said no. But my next Onc apt is August and I really do have go to gp before I go back to him. I am the most reluctant patient going!!!!!!!!!!!! We do get enough of it. I wish you well and hope the break heals fast
Oh dear poor you. I broke my arm a couple of months after coming off second line chemo. I think I was still a bit wobbly. Now it's 6 weeks after 3rd line and I have fallen a few times though fortunately just got a bit grazed and bruised. I hope you heal quickly x
Thanks for all the messages! I am one finger texting at the min so sending one message to you all or I would be typing all night!!๐. Unfortunately it is my right arm so nuisance central!!!!! If I manage to get a Teal cast on Monday I will post a pic! Hope you are all well! I know some of you are having a rough time so I wish the best for you!
