I’ve not been here much lately. Been very busy which I like being. Was my Birthday Monday. Can’t believe I’m 39 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Broke up from work yesterday for two weeks. Need the break. My brain has become fuzzy. I was doing everything wrong and calling the students the wrong names. I was even talking to a lad called Ben then a second later asked where was Ben 😂
I had a complete response to the three weekly taxol which finished 23rd Feb. Since I had my sigmoidoscopy last Monday, I’ve been getting sharp pains in my ribs. Left side. I’m sure my tummy is bigger too. I can’t really think this demon of a disease can come back so quickly.
Anyway I’m going out for drinks with friends this afternoon. A few cocktails will dull the pain.
I want to wish you amazing incredible inspirational ladies a happy Easter time .
Sending each and every one of you a very big warm hug xxxxx

Happy Birthday for last Monday. Glad you had a good time. Hope you have a very happy Easter and enjoy the rest from work. I also go out for a few drinks with my friends, it does you the power of good catching up with everyone away from cancer even when you have chemo brain.
My problem is, every little thing I get I put down to cancer or wonder if it's another cancer where before I had cancer I was completely healthy and rarely took a pill or visited the doctors. The mind is a weird thing sometimes.
Me too, Zenaj. I was fit and healthy til 62 and never worried but I think its very common to think everything little thing is the cancer. But I am learning not to panic and ask my friends if they have what my symptoms are and often its just a bug going around! But I think the fear is always with me and I have recurred a little bit, 5 months ago. But doing 'wait and watch' and had a lovely Summer swimming etc. Hugs from Australia.
I so hope your current symptoms are muscle pain and larger belly is just good eating.
Speaking of good eating, because I can't take Avastin, I am eating all the foods that have the same effect (antiangiogenesis) keeping the blood vessels that feed tumours from growing.
If you do not know these already, just look up Antiangiogenesis foods and dig in. Mostly, it is the Mediterranean Diet (lots of greens and tomato sauce) with red wine or red grape and Turmeric (carcumin).
Anyway, I am just starting my post treatment life, finishing first line Carbo/Taxol at the end of February, NED and feeling great, but no way of knowing if my diet will help and if I can avoid a recurrence.
I wish you all the best for your birthday and that this year will see your nasty cancer cells vaporised forever.
Thank you for your lovely reply. I had avastin but it was stopped after the 23th dose as it wasn’t working for me. My CA125 levels were rising.
I will look into that diet. I take a Chaga mushroom tablet. Apparently chaga mushrooms have anti cancer properties. Also ground ginger is supposed to be particularly good for ovarian cancer. It’s worth trying these things. Can’t hurt.
I’m so pleased you are NED. May you be for years and years and years.
I don't like to fall prey to any diet fads, but I do pay attention to data on cancer fighting herbs and foods. After all, taxol comes from the Pacific Yew tree and aspirin from the willow!
So, the cancer fighting property of Chaga is triterpenes and it is being studied now:
Hi Suzanne--first Happy Birthday and second what a wonderful picture of you! You look great! Every pain I ever have I attribute to cancer! And of course, the minute I am told its not, the pains go away. Hoping the same is true for you (I get pain sometimes under my ribs and even when NED I did---kept telling docs and they said nothing shows up on the scan--one doc thought maybe the permanent staples inside--which I have a few of).
I'm done with Carbo/Caelyx with scan on the 9th.
Enjoying life and doing what you are--going out and having a good time. Being busy is very good and very helpful.
Thinking of you and wishing you a Happy Easter as well.
Thank you for your reply. Yes I guess every twingevor ache or pain we think it’s the bloody gremlin again.
I’m glad you’ve finished your chemo and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your even tedults. My friend was on those chemos and had brilliant results. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Suzanne - Happy Birthday! it was mine on Monday too (55) and I broke up yesterday as well (I work in a special school and seem to remember from a previous post that you do too).
I’m glad to hear that the weekly taxol worked and I really hope the pain is a side effect of treatment.
Happy birthday! Same pain lay there at night and think they have mis read scan, I think we all fear the worst but scar tissue has a lot to be said ! Pain over growing and twisting etc my small bow elk obstruction was scar tissue A&E blue lights because they thought bowell was blocked or perforated! But scar tissue thank god! Always got pain under ribs , spasms in side, sharp pains! MF beast 😂
Hope you enjoyed your cocktails, it’s great to get out and enjoy yourself. It may have come back quickly after a complete response but it seems odd that it should start to give you symptoms so soon. Even if it’s there, you’d expect it to still be very small and maybe only CA-125 give an indication. But, I’m only surmising, I don’t really know.
I admire you still being able to work, I know I’d make a hash of it. Have a good couple of weeks off.
Yes I keep thinking that it can’t come back that quick. Not within a month or so. If it persists, I’ll have to get it checked.
I’ve worked through second line chemo as I felt so well. Luckily I never got any side effects with chemo, just tired. I love my job and I work with such lovely people. I think it’s what keeps me going and stops me thinking about this disease.
You look so well hope you had a great time with the cocktails. I had vodka and coke and a glass of wine which I think is hilarious when they wheel out happy hour here!
I’d say end of chemo niggles as your body starts it’s journey back to happiness
Hi, Still trying to get over the trial drug did knock me about, I go back on chemo next week plus now a spot has been found on my adrenal gland will find out the treatment for that. Celebrating Easter with my husbands mothers 90th birthday. Take care Lorraine xx
Hi Suzanne, I'm not sure about the adrenal gland I did try and look it up it's not a common cancer and the treatment was a operation , I'll know more when I see her on Thursday..Take care Lorraine xx
Lovely to see such a joyful and happy picture, you look lovely and I ❤️ Your gorgeous top. Hope the niggles settle down soon and have a Happy 🐣 Easter Suzanne. Xxxx
Happy belated birthday lovely, hope you got well and truly spoiled. Stunning photo, you certainly rock your post chemo image, you’re beautiful. Hopefully the tummy is just a reaction to the sigmoidoscopy or maybe it’s just gas, don’t know about anybody else but since my surgery and chemo I’m rather more gassy than I ever used to be, really ladylike...... not 😂. Hope you have a lovely day with your friends and delicious cocktails, it’s most important to enjoy ourselves and some well deserved self indulgence is law 🥂🎉💐 😊. ❤️Xx Jane
I was wondering whether it was wind but I don’t think it is. Don’t know what it is. Really hurts when I breathe deeply. Maybe I should not breathe deeply. 😂. It’s there all the time though. I’ll get it investigated if it persists.
I had a great time with our friends but they went home quite early as they got tired. so we went for a Greek meal. My partner had bad hiccups so the Greek restaurant owner smacked him on the back really hard which made me laugh 😂😂
Then he fell asleep on the train home then threw up as soon as he got in. I was the only one with any staying power. 😂😂😂
I hope you have a really lovely Easter time. Enjoy it. Much love and hugs. Xxxxx
Suzanne, YOU ARE like a ray of sunshine what a beautiful photo.. Thrilled to hear the chemo had worked and let's hope the niggles turn out to be just that. Enjoy your break and hope you enjoyed your cocktails. Mines a piano colado. LOVE Chris
Yes I’m hoping the niggles are just that. Maybe I’m just falling to bits. 😂😂
How are you doing?
I hope you have a super Easter break. Enjoy every minute.
Cocktails were nice and plentiful. Pina coladas are yummy. They didn’t do them where I was last night. I had 4 mojitos, 2 rum punches and 2 strawberry daiquiris. I can’t remember if I had anything else 😂😂😂
Wishing you a fab Easter time. Have fun and relax too.
What a beautiful photo! Happy belated birthday and I hope you had a great cocktail time! 🍸🌸. Sounds a good plan to me! Hope you feel more comfortable very quickly. Happy Easter, too......Love & 🌼🌸🌼🌸. Carolyn x
Happy Easter to you I hope you enjoyed your afternoon with friends, sometimes its what we need most. Don't worry about the name forgetting, its a constant thing for me. But my friends are patient with me
Belated happy birthday Suzanne and happy Easter holidays. You look fabulous. Congrats too on your wonderful results and long may your remission continue. I’m sure you really enjoyed those cocktails. Now I’m going to raise a glass of wine to you 🍷
Hi Suzanne...happy Easter to you too. You look stunning in the photo! Sounds like you had a great afternoon out with your friends. Hope your symptoms are easing. Take care, Jo xx
Belated birthday wishes Suzanne and great photo! But pains sound a bit worrying definitely call CNS and/or talk to your GP as soon as you can. Did you get result from sigmoidoscopy? Hope it was ok. Love, Madeline. X
The pain kept me awake last night. Hurt when I laid on my left side. Hurts more after I’ve eaten too or breathe deeply. I also get bad hunger pains when I’m not hungry. I will call my CNS. Tomorrow. My sigmoidoscopy was ok. He couldn’t find any thickening.
Good news re sigmoidoscopy but sorry you’ve now got this other worry and hope you got some guidance from CNS, and going to get it checked out.
I’m not too bad, coping with this 6th line treatment of weekly taxol and Gemcitibine and ca125 has been falling though still high, but the aim is just to try and stabilise things for as long as poss. Going to Amalfi coast in 3 weeks so clinging to that!
6th line? You’re doing really well. I hate the CA125 numbers. On second line I never asked and they never told me what it was. I still don’t know even though I’ve finished second line now.
You will absolutely love the amslfi coast. I’ve never been, would love to go. I know people who’ve been and say it’s absolutely beautiful. I know you will ha e the most amazing time there. You keep positive lovely lady. Big big hugs xxxx
am not doing brilliantly.....have to get too many others to do things for me!....possibly having another scan but think the medics disagree! Sometimes am not sure what I think either! xxx
