Rectal pain/ stinging.: Any advice from you... - My Ovacome
Rectal pain/ stinging.
So sorry to hear you are in this discomfort, I was told by my chemist to use Liquid Parifin, in the lower regions as it is not an irritant and I have done so and it does work. Also wear loose clothes dump jeans and tights. Maybe drink plenty of cranberry juice to see if that will help at all. You have had major surgeries and there is bound to be some discomfort. Perhaps you have piles, I did have them and got them removed, the best thing ever to be honest. Maybe see if you can have a colonoscopy to see what exactly is going on there and the gastro surgeon might give you some pessaries to ease stinging etc. Also Ruth the Ovacome nurse may be able to give you better advise than me, all the very best
Will try that thank you, seeing surgeon soon so am going to get advice from her,MIT is just very tiring after everything else x
Anusol cream and/or suppositories? And use a barrier cream... good luck - it's the last straw, isn't it!
Have you tried Desitin? Start off with the maximum strength because it can't do anything bad to you. This way you can know quickly if it works. It is diaper rash cream or Zinc Oxide is the non-name brand. It is cheap and it is like a paste. I used it a lot for rectal pain.
Do you ever have a pain that is not a burning sensation? Does standing up for long periods of time make the feelings worse? Please answer these questions because if standing makes it worse I may have a solution.
Hello - we have a similar history, I had my 4th op last summer, hard time recovering until I spoke to a nutritionist and I have cut out all wheat, dairy and basically went back to a baby food diet, lots of stewed apple, banana, sweet potato, some fish/meat, everything mashed or grated, and always cooked, never raw. I also take a probiotic. Things improved almost overnight. Its quite hard in the beginning but there are many 'grain-free' websites and blogs with great recipes. Hope this helps - Nicola
