Carbo taxol

Sorry I think I may had posted this already…has anyone gone through their first recurrence with carbo/taxol but with avastin added. I’ve read that some had carbo caelyx for their first recurrences.

I’m a bit nervous even though I’ve been on carbo/taxol and niraparib . Had a tough time with it but don’t know what to expect for carbo/caelyx. I hear different experiences from everyone.

I’ve had full debulking surgery and have just finished my 6th (and final scheduled) round of carbo/taxol chemo. I’m BRCA negative. I’m keen to find out if any women here with the same subtype are taking any preventative medications? Anyway- a problem shared is a problem halved right? 😊

Previously: Carbo/taxol/avastin, carbo/caelyx, Niraparib. I have just had treatment 2 of cycle 1 of carbo/gem and I have a very itchy red rash between my neck and just below my breast. I am using e45 and taking anti histamine at present.

My oncologist said most likely I will along with nausea but I have read that some people have less side effects than with Carbo/Taxol. Thank you so much for your support. Marietta

Had a total hysterectomy and weekly carbo/taxol on ICON8. Now I’m 77 and exactly 10 years NED with no recurrences, (but two hernia ops and lots of mesh, incontinence, neuropathy in my feet and curly grey hair. However, all are better than the alternative!)

Following a 4b diagnosis last year, 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol and debulking surgery, I am currently very lucky to have NED. I started Olaparib and Avastin in February as maintenance and the fatigue has got progressively worse. Also suffering from muscle and joint aches.

So now they propose 2 treatment approaches - 1 longer infusion of carbo/taxol every 21 days for 6 cycles or weekly 2-3 h infusions at 1/3 dose for 18 weeks. They offer the cold cap only for the second treatment as apparently it’s difficult to keep it longer than 3 hours.

I had 1st reoccurance in sept 2021 and finished carbo/taxol in jan 2022. I have been on Lynparza for 2 years just finished but my ca125 is still rising now at 92 but CT scan was clear in jan. And i get scans and bloods every 3 months xx

/taxol/Keytruda & letrozole which didn't work now platinum resistant I'm not PDL1.

I was diagnosed high grade stage 3c peritoneal in Autumn 2021, I have had carbo/taxol/avastin, debulking surgery. Followed by avastin alone which did not work, then carbo/caelyx which worked very well. I have had just over a year on Niraparib but sadly it is no longer working.

I had a full Hysterectomy and 6 Carbo/Taxol chemos. I do have some numbness and peripheral nerve pain from the chemo but No other treatment! I have been able to enjoy many things, seeing my grandchildren grow, look after my elderly mum etc. Each day is a blessing.

One of them is chemo I had last year when diagnosed carbo/taxol - but wonder if it makes sense if it recurred so quick? History: Diagnosed jan 2023, HGOC 4B, 3xchemo, debulking,3x chemo, august 2023 started with Niraparib as I was BRCA negative.

I am 3 years since diagnosis 4b, carbo taxol, debulking, and now 4 months finished with a 2 year Olaparib course.

I have been on Avastin alongside Carbo & Taxol from the start. I have suffered alot with headaches and a bloody nose. My oncologist does not think it is wise to continue Avastin & is considering Niraparib instead.

I had the same chemo both times: carbo/taxol. It appears that I have another recurrence because my CA 125 was 8 this past November. Then, it rose to 22 in December and today it was 158. My oncologist wants to schedule a CT scan in March and I think that's too late.

My doctor said my options are weekly taxol / carbo as it should be easier to give smaller dosis. Other option is do nothing. And he will support me in best way… He didn’t do the new scan (last is from September) just assumes it is disease on my bowel surface causing this disorder and bloating.

Caelyx this time as carbo taxol didnt last 6 months. How was it? I've always had carboplatin/ packlitaxol up till now Coming up to 4years since I joined the OC club. Had chemo / radical op/ chemo/ olaparib/ more chemo now starting again with diff chemo.
