Hi everyone, looking for advice/suggestions:

My Mother currently fighting stage 4 Ovarian Cancer recurrence (high grade Serous Carcinoma) first diagnosed in January 2022. Started Chemo in Feb, 2022, got a Full Hysterectomy surgery and received Hipec chemotherapy, was free of cancer by August only to realize cancer came back in December 2022.

Several rounds of chemotherapy during recurrence with slight improvement and then chemo didn't respond. Moved to Oral Chemo for three months which didn't work and CA125 went from 55 to 310 in three months of testing IV and Oral Chemo.

Recently onco advised Paclitaxel weekly for 6 sessions and bi weekly for another 3 and CA125 reduced to 230 (100 points reduction) after 4 sessions and after 6th session CA 125 only reduced to 210 (20 points) however the Bilrubin level in Liver went up from 0.25 to 5 in a span of two weeks, extreme fatigue, tiredness, loss of appetite. Got a MRI scan and the liver doctor said her Chemo is not working over the Lymph node near Liver and they can see several traces in/around liver.

Very stressed with this latest information as we thought the Chemo is helping but it wasn't. Onco and every other doc is saying to fix the liver situation first before any other treatment can be done. Any advice thoughts on what can be done next if anyone has been in this situation before? Mother recently got a stunt in the liver to remove the blockage and saw slight improvement in levels.

What other alternate treatments can be taken?

What about Elahere or Olaparib?

Can CBD or RSO oil stable the situation?

Please help looking for advice/guidance.

Hi. I’m sorry your mother is having such a difficult time. If you can get access to Elahere that would be a good option. You’re supposed to be platinum sensitive for Olaparib but a PARP would be a good option after treatment. I think some kind of high tech radiation is used on liver but not if the cancer is inside. I hope you find an effective treatment.

I’m really not sure if this is what you will want to hear and I say this with support.

Make your mum comfortable. My mums body started to fail and the fatigue and loss of appetite was it showing us she had had enough. She could not sustain any more treatment.

I was like you and fought for more until the very end but the reality is that she needs you to be with her and to allow her to be as comfortable as possible. Do you have pallative care involved yet?

Not what you're looking for?
