Hi everyone, After being of work now since last July, i have arranged with my Manager to return tomorrow to work for a couple of hours to see how i go, As you are all aware this is something that i have been wanting to do since last year but with this illness i haven't be able to do, I am still not right as the MTX hasn't work very well for me and i believe that it is down to the steroid injections that i have been able to get around at all. I will only be doing this once a week and it will be all light duties, the great thing is at least i will be seeing some of the old gang and feeling like i am doing something, Will let you know how i get on, Take Care XXX
Back to work tomorrow...: Hi everyone, After being of... - NRAS
Back to work tomorrow...
Good luck shirl, have messaged you xxx
Good luck Shirley xx
Hi Shirl you don't say what you do? Hope you get on ok tomorrow. It will be good to see your work mates. Take care xx
I work for Iceland, i was in the middle of my training to be duty manager when all this happened, This is one of the reasons i have been unable to return because of the work being so physical and demanding, i will not be carry on with the training until i am feeling a lot better, i just wished i stayed working for Tesco sometimes as i used to work in Personnel, it wasn't as physical, if only we new what was round the corner xxx
Your so right wish we could all see into the future. Mind that would be scary !!! Could you do more admin with Iceland. I work for Halfords i do till but it can be physical. Bless 'em i have a chair now.x
I wish, they don't have that much admin to do. it is only a small store and the store Manager does most of it, apart from cashing up at the end of the day, When i used to work for Tesco's there was a lot more department like the cash office etc, The only place to sit in there are the tills but that can be really physical to especially when you have to pack customers shopping and it is really busy, I don't think my shoulders and hands etc could cope with all that at the moment, but i will be spending sometime on the till so that will give me a rest from standing on my feet to long, That is nice of your firm to give you a chair, there must be a lot of room behind the till area, As i know that some stores haven't got the room to put chairs behind, i used to work for pumpkin patch a children shop and when i had my op a couple of years ago, you couldn't get one behind there, so i was unable to go to work, How many hours do you do a week? xx
good luck Shirley I have messaged you
crisxx
Thanks for the lovely message Cris, I am just so lucky to have a great supportive Manager, He had told me that he has also spoke to all the staff about my illness, which i am so grateful of as i didn't want to have to return answering a load of questions, or explaining why i can't do certain things, Take Care XX
Oh shirley really hope tomorrow goes really well and you get back into your training. I am rooting for you.
All the best. And take it slow and easy. You have nothing to prove

Good Luck x
Sorry Shirl, only read your post this lunchtime, I hope everything went well on your return to work. look forward to hearing how you got on. I am still struggling with full time work, but from next week the Dr has asked my work ( M& S) to temporary drop a day each week until August, to see if that helps with the pain & exhaustion.
