Well my friends for those of you who did go out last i hope you had a good time and are now recovered well enough to take on this new year. I stayed home alone as bob was working and grace was out drinking. Nothing worth watching on the telly so i switched it off. Went to bed and and did my puzzle books. Bob came in at 1.30am and i tried to settle down, what a fiasco that was i was down here at 2.30am, grace came in at 3.30am and she went to bed. Bob was suffering with acid and he came down at about 4.00am. He went back to bed about 6.30am and i dozed a bit. I went to the loo about 6.30ish and got back into bed and i slept until gone 9.00am. Didn't even hear bob get up. I must have been tired for him to get out of bed without me hearing him.
I'm not sure yet whether i'm going to wait until surgery opens on tuesday before i go back or whether to see out of hours doctors tomorrow. I still have a very tight chest and it is still very painful as well. I still have no energy to do anything. Two weeks without mtx and my joints in my hand are killing me.
Apart from that happy new year to you all.
Love and best wishes. Sylvi. xx

aww Sylviie, what a night you had - I read the title of your blog and thought yea i identify with that. I would call the out of hours, at least you get another opinion and a bit more help instead of waiting another day. The sooner you can get back on to the metx the better.
I am off the steroids again and immediately the pain in my knees has crept back and my hands are thick and burning. Hate when nothing is working right.
Oh poor Sylvia.. hope you rang out of hours?.. of not do it soon xx
Yes Sylvi have you rang them yet? I hope so as I'm worrying about you. You've had such a horrible time of it over Xmas and New Year you poor thing.
Mads that description of how RA is in the hand, "thick and burning", is perfect! I've got a stinking cold with streaming eyes, aching head and residual sore throat but all of it feels completely managable because for the 3rd day in a row my hands are getting better. I was crediting my new stress ball but from what you are saying Sylvi and Mads I think it must be the effect of the raise in dose of MTX kicking in.
My OH can't believe how different they look and I cant believe how bad the pain had become until now it's almost disappeared and I can almost clench my fists first time in many months. Trying not to think "maybe it's all gone away" now. TTx

Well Tilda, I thought about your nasty sore throat all day yesterday, wondered if it was the beginning of a viral bug. Sounds like you got it!
Oh dear, that can be so miserable. And Sylvie with her bug for way too long! I know the suggestion is rest and drink plenty of liquids, so a hot cup of tea every hour can't hurt. But don't let it cool! Seems to me if you drink it hot, the bugs can't olerate hot, so you could kill a few!
For heaven's sake people, get better fast, this is no way to start the New Year! Sending hugs, for you both, not the bugs! lol Loretta
Well ladies, its 4.30am and here i am,bob went to work as he is on the early shift this morning,so i had a cup of tea and he said i should try to get more sleep in bed, wish i could so have come down here and i thought i would do a bit of blogging before i try to get my head down again.
I watch sky, hawaii 5'o and ncis la,then went to bed. Got comfy and settled down until bob got up at 3.30am. I'm not sure whether this is starting to break, even though my chest feels like someone has hit my back with a bat. My head feels clearer, for how long is anyones guess.By the time i went to bed my fingers were sore,so sore i didn't know what to do with them. My fingers feel like they are thick and burning as well. Now when i got to bed i found my left arm has blood patches on it due to the steroids that i have to take. Another thing to add to the list.
I will see how i go this morning and then i might just ring for advice and see what they say. Will let you all know how i get on.
Thabks everyone for your wishes and kind thoughts.

Sylvie, In all likelyhood, you have had a virus. The results tend to cling for weeks. However, you never did get the actual reading of your chest Xray, so you could at the least, ring the after hours and see what they can tell you. I would think , if you had an actual Pneumonia, they would have contacted you by now!!
And, perhaps the after hours can give you some decongestant cough syrup to begin to break that stuff up!
I am inundated with stuff to do! Washing up all the mixing bowls, baking pans, casseroles, etc, the kitchen is over-used!!
Have some laundry to do, and MUST begin writing the column for the local newspaper, today.
Then I can play with my new toy. Kids gave me an eReader, the Kindle 3G, no need for wi-Fi hookup, it is a permanent connection! I can read books without needing to hold a big, paper book. I confess to loving the feel of a new book in my hands, but my hands can't hold one anymore. Bless my kids, they know what an avid reader I am. I can buy any New Released books, best Sellers, for only $9.99! They are usually $25 at the Bookstore.
I can also connect to the internet from the Kindle, so, I think, I can be in touch wherever I am, without needing the computer. It has a built in keyboard, two versions of the Bible and 2 versions of Dictionery., and an endless list of books. 1,000 of them free to download. Last night I downloaded "Dracula" set in London! Never read the whole thing! Now I can.
So, I'm off to the kitchen and laundry room area with a pile of jeans and sweaters, then will attack the dishes. Heck is my right wrist and thumb are complaining even tho I am not moving them! I will have to put it in Intensive Care this afternoon--namely, some Voltaran creme and ice pack!
I'm off to see the lizard, the wonderful lizard of ow! Everybody: get better while I'm gone Loret
Loretta read my blog chest infection part 2 or 3. that will tell you everything that has happened today. you take care of those hands my love or you won't be able to blog at all. love sylvia. xx
You got that right, Sylvia, I'm typing with the splint on my rt. arm! Just barely let's me move 3 fingers, a little of the thumb, just on the end. Well it works! That's not going to stop me!
Saw your post on facebook, sounds like you are on the right track, especially since you feel like you got run over by a train
