Good morning to one and all. Well it is early for me. I had what can only be described as a very good day yesterday. I walked very well round the whole close. I felt good as well. I got my little scooter out and tried it round the close. It would be no good taking it if i couldn't use it. Overall i thought at last i am seeing some improvement. The swelling isn't so bad either. I had a bath and at the moment i am getting into bed after my bath so as to give my knee a rest. I laid in bed and watched ncis-la and i thought its about time i settled down to sleep as hubby has to get up early for work.
Could i settle could i like hell. If it wasn't my knee it was the blasted ra in my fingers annoying the hell out of me. I put my arthiritus gloves on. No dice they woouldn't settle, nor would my leg,so at ablout 11.30pm down i came and got the bag of peas out. My daughter came in a wee bit later. I sat at my laptop for a while then about 1am i went back to bed. Hubby was having a bad night as well, something he ate. He is having to watch what he eats and he thinks it was something he had at teatime. Nice ham salad with spring onions. I had after effects with them so that could be what upset him. He had to be up at 4am this morning for work. I did get some sleep up until then.
So i am down here with pains in my hands and my knee sore, but i do think some of the swelling is starting to go down. Yes everyone i will be taking it easy just to be on the safe side.
I had a letter on saturday from the hospital cancelling my follow up appt from 15th july to, wait for it.... 5th september, now that i'm not very happy with i can tell you. A major op like that and they think i can wait 4mths until i see the surgeon again. I think not,if i have to we'll go back to see him privately, just for me to get some reassurance that thinks are going well.
Well my friends despite having some pain,i feel optimistic of the future.
I hope you all had a better nights sleep than i did and i wish you all a happy monday!!

Glad youre feeling better sylvi, awful news about your follow up appointment. I know there are cutbacks but thats ridiculous. You really shouldnt have to go private but i know i would do the same in your situation. Hope you have a good day. Take care xxxxx
If you managed a good day but with a rough night I reckon you could be getting close to being half way there, Wasnt so long ago you were constantly on bad days and nights ! Any improvement is better than none even if it is slow.
There's that old saying 'slowly, slowly catch a monkey' (I've never understood myself what monkeys have got to do with going slowly ?) Hopefully in your case it's 'he who laughs last, laughs loudest !!!' (I have heard that saying said as laughs longest so guess you will just have to help yourself to which one you want)
Weather down here's blinking awful and looks like it's going to be that way for about 2 weeks (raining again) - if it's as bad where you are you will be forced to take it easy. Does the drop in pressure when it rains due affect your RA ? - I know it does mine, ( I think it's a drop and not a rise in pressure when it rains, either way it affects my RA.)
We're having a new fence put up (we're on a corner/bend in the road) and the fencing man doesn't appear to work in the rain, not that I blame him, but rain is definitely stopping play down here in not so sunny Kent.

Morning Sylvi,
Shame you had a bad night but you do seem to be progressing during the day, so that is promising.
Thats a long while to wait for your follow up appointment, dont blame you going to see him privately but you shouldnt have to.
If I was a duck I would be happy with all this rain but unfortunately I'm not!
Hope you have a good day again today, take it easy though.
hi slyvi, it nice to hear you are very slowly starting to feel better,,when it comes to hospital appoints, nothing surprises me, the ammount of time we have to wait is ridiculous, anyway you take it easy, and have a nice rest, remember rome was,nt built in a day, take care ,sue x
You did well yesterday and things are improving but you know that it catches up with you and arthur rears its ugly head and reminds us it's there. Ring your drs secretary if your not happy about appointments, see if she can do something , take good care Sylvi. X
Morning ladies, well thank you all for your kind wishes. Sorry it took me so long to answer you all,but i had to get dressed and do my exercises, then i rang the hospital to find out why i had to wait so long. It turns out he is on annual leave and he only does that clinic once a month. I have managed to get an appointment to see him on the 8th of august, which is better than september. Then i had to ring drs and order some drugs. Its just a round of drugs ,drs, hospital all the time. Never mind its done now and i can chat to you all in peace.
I had a bit of a bad night, but considering that i don't feel too bad this morning. I will try and walk round the close this morning weather permitting.
I hope this finds you all in good spirits.
Love to you all

Hi Sylvi, it really does sound like things are on the up for you, yesterday was the the proof of the pudding! You're bound to get pay back for having a great day, but the bad times will soon be outweighed by the good. Well done for getting you're appointment changed! Here's to the good days. Jennyxxxxx
Thanks jenny,I wanted to walk this morning, but the rain has forced into my chair,so i will be resting to make up for yesterday. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hello Sylvi, glad to hear that you had a good day yesterday, that sounds very promising. Pity about the lousy sleep though, hopefully you can make up for it today. Good on you getting your appointment changed. I am going to ring my consultant later on so that i can ask to get back on to metx, i am very very peeved off by this stage.
i know sylvie, at the beginning i was really grateful for everything that they give me and so appreciated that they now finally believed that there was something wrong. 18 months down the line i am just fed up that i am still as immobile as i was and the long waits were nothing is going on just irritates me further.
Sorry to hear about your delay, but glad you got on them and got something accomplished, I have been having both Bad days and Nights, Mid morning to afternoon it seems to calm down a bit (the RA) but the Fibro is Hell, It crawls with pain and aches and the joints from the RA is know up, swell. I have no energy lately, I am so grateful to have a compact flat and a little courtyard to have sunshine and flowers in, So I can sit out and have coff or tea, and I am paying out of pocket for my carer to come to me on Fridays, as she catches me up on My washing up, and changes my linens as I have not the strenghth to do it myself, So that is a big help. I hope by the time you make it down here, we will not have rain then, I am getting a bit fed up with it, I love the smell, but I cant go outside, besides, I feel the pressure change in my joints every time it shifts. Anyway, Keep in touch sweetie, And I hope you have a better week xx
