Hi All,

Have been excepted for the hydro pool today .Sounds silly but i am really excited.I have both RA and Degenrative Disk Disease and feel this is the first step to taking some controll.I have put on weight and just dont feel good about myself. This i hope will be the first step to maybe starting a new way of approachuing my RA and helping to help myself.x

Good for you

Never tried hydrotherapy but i've heard that it can really help-and when my knees are sore a warm bath really eases things. It's always nice to feel that you still have a bit of control over RA .Also with RA i don't exercise as much so my weight has crept up a bit too! so your not the only one

Please let me know how it goes and if it's any help

Hi

Yes will let all know how it goes.

Julie

I paid for some whilst waiting for nhs.. then got 6 sessions free nhs then you can buy blocks of 6 sessions of which I paid for 6 more.. my trust only funds 6!. It is lovely and warm and soothing.. the water takes the strain of the joints.. its bliss .. I know do the exercises in a jacuzzi at my local health club( hydrotherapy pools are at jaccuzi temp! and vice versa, and my local one has to min of bubbles off, and 10 min on.

The hydrotherapy sessions are typically 30MIN max . the heat of the water and the effort of doing your alloted exercises makes you quite tired.. take a bottle of water with you to drink after.,you can get quite thirsty xx

Hi Summer.

Thank you ,will take water with me as had not thought of that.x

HI julie i have heard it is great as well - my trust doesn't fund it at all from what i can gather.

Don't talk about weight - i started my new eating regime today - apple and carrot juice for breakfast - beautiful salad and fruit for lunch. But then the stressors hit - storm clouds are gathering in work, (i am in for some conflict and i don't do well with that) the consultant said no more steroids and i came home and ate a mini pizza and a half of tin of beans leaving my lovely tomato and lentil soup to sit mocking my lack of resolve.

Hope you enjoy your pool session and if you can get any pointers for the weightloss please send them my way.
