Well i am back from the hospital My inflamation markser have gone from 27 to 16 which is good news. They don't seem to know whats wrong with my finger. The nurse felt it turned it round kept looking at it and then she went onto internet looking for gout, and my fingers look nothing like that. So i have been and had blood tests done for the whole lot and we will see what comes out of those. I am still no firther forward than i was before i went down there.
I have been downstairs all night as i couldn't settle,so i am starting to flag a bit now. So i will go and make a nice cup of earl grey tea....... have a lovely afternoon everyone of you..xx

Hi Sylvi, glad it all went well and the markers have reduced. I have just got my blood tests back as well, Inflammatory markers haven't altered but my liver test has gone up a bit but see the Rheumy on Friday so he will have a look at the results.
Not sure what your finger problem would be unless you have a bit of osteo in the joints there. My left forefinger is very swollen due to wrenching it some weeks ago and it hasn't got back to normal yet. Have you damaged any fingers recently?
Anyway, hope you get a result soon and find out what it is. Love Lavendarlady x
Hello LL, i have to be awkward don't i. It annoys me as i can't use my finger to type with.It is affecting all my fingers on my right hand so whatever it is god only knows. No i haven't wrenched them at all. Love sylvi.xx
There's no chance this is osteoarthritis is there Sylvi? As LL says this can make your finger hurt and swollen in a different way to RA. I have lots of OA nodes on my fingers sice RA and they do hurt a lot and go pink and shiny at the start - almost more than the RA but in a different way - less puffy and acidic burning pain more just normal pain like I've wrenched them. It is possible to get secondary OA as part of RA. Good luck with finding out.Tilda xxx
Good news about the inflammation, Sylvi. As for the enigmatic finger ....at least it sounds as if it is being investigated properly. Hope you have a much better night tonight.
Thank you ladies. I hadn't given oa a thought, but surely if it was that it would ease of when the weather is clement. It has been another reasonable day today so no rain. I don't know perhaps its just me being strange...... Love sylvi.xx
My wedding ring finger is about two sizes thicker than any of my other fingers I have gone from ring size q ( pre disease ) to what I am now which is a w , it never goes down not with any treatment so far but is a talking point lol :0) . Seems to have stumped my consultant too but hopefully they will be able to sort it out eventually . Glad your markers are down and enjoy your well earned cup of earl grey
Emilia,i can't wear any rings on my fingers at all now. My hubby got me a lovely chain at xmas to put my wedding rings and my mums ring on it as well. When i had my knee redone hubby had to wear my chain round his neck as i'm a bit funny about my rings and when he came to see me at night he gave me them back. I think a bath is in order shortly. my daughter is in there at the moment and you know what daughters are like. She is going out for a drink tonight with her friend who is off to uni saturday and we won't see her until xmas.
Did you ask about dactylitis? Also known as "sausage digit". Its a fairly common feature of psoriatic arthritis, but I think can happen with other things too. It might not be easily recognised by someone not familiar with spondyloarthritis though.
Is your finger looking like 'sausages' in any part? These are the traits of mine they do look like I have sausages instead of fingers, and as you know I have PsA.
Morning ladies,no i didn't ask about sausage finger as i thought it was gout, which my fingers look nothing like the photo my rheumy nurse showed me. I have had a load of blood tests done and i think i will make a appt to see my dr and see if he can come up with some answers. My right finger is coming out in sympathy with my middle finger now. Thid worries me as i am right handed and i type with my right hand mostly. I do use both hands as that was how i was taught.
We will see what comes of the blood tests and in the meantime i will see my dr.
