Hello you lovely lot just wanted to shared that I'm in an awful painful flare . Oddly seems to have been triggered by tendonitis in the back of my right heel. I did all the things you're meant to, but resting it was difficult with OH wanting to go out "sight seeing " while we were in Alicante.
As some of you know my OH is bi-polar and while he's a gem in many ways , empathy is not a strong point, he has asked me to use a colour system to tell him how I am each day? Green , Amber , Red yes I know explained never green, mostly red especially at present. lol
Anyway at present using my strong analgesics , and waiting for RA call back who will come up with a solution like they always do.
For those having a day like me , hang in, for those in a respite from symptoms have a lovely day.
🤗

I just wanted to send a little hug your way. The colour chart sounds a great and instant way to chart your pain to your husband - I use the same colours before I attempt a ' big ' task so i can sometimes stop myself from doing too much. Note the word sometimes..
Hope the rheumy nurses can wave their magic wand to start a treatment for your flare. And thanks for sending good wishes to others even in your own pain. X
I suffer with this too . Have you tried a compression stocking ?. I find this helps. My Achilles ( that sounds like your problem) is always a weak point and I had orthotics made which does help. Tendinitis is often associated with psoriatic arthritis. Maybe a diary of your symptoms may help . I often got lower back ache and enthesitis . My diagnosis was changed from RA. Good luck
great idea to use colour system with OH, I use 1-10 per joint in my own head and any time I get a 4 I allow myself pain relief. Re your heel, I had an injury untreated during covid, turned out to be a severe rupture of two lower leg muscles, Enthetitis crept in and I find a compression sleeve soothing plus the strong volterol gel if I’m not taking anything else ( we’re all different of course ) and I hope you have better days soon.
I do colour code so if I say it is a red day it means being quiet and low activity. Green is not perfect but able to do some things pacing. Does not mean pain free just more able.
Hey. You are definitely glass half full type of person! I’m not!!! When i’m in pain. I’m like a firework. Do not come near me. I’m likely to explode any second! I’ve had tendonitis. It was in the right foot too. It started on Christmas Eve. I was in total agony. I turned down a Christmas invitation. (When i’m in real pain. I just have to be alone). I live in Covent Garden. I limped up to my local Tesco. It’s always stuffed with tourists. They always get in my way. Especially when i’m in pain. I love admiring the lovely Christmas tree they always put up in the piazza. Stunning! I walked passed it & gazed up at the big shiny balls!!! (Oo er mrs). Although i was in alot of pain. I just felt so glad, that i can do whatever i want on Christmas Day. Eat whatever i want too! If Santa hasn’t left me anything. I won’t get upset. I’ll just have an extra mulled wine & mince pie! Anyway enjoy Alicante (woo). Hope you get sorted soon. (Maybe stay in the shade for now). X
Hang on there. I had an awful weekend, was away in fancy hotel and struggled to get off toilet in middle of night etc etc. this morning I can nearly walk without my stick. No rhyme nor reason.
You talk of colours makes me think of the Dr Seuss book My Many Colored Days. We used it to help teach my son when very young (autistic) about emotions and feelings. Then he devised some colours and moods pairs, so that we could help him recognise his own feelings and that of others.
I would suggest you either get a copy of the book, or watch the video of someone reading it, then revise that 3 colour scheme to add a few more!
