I had a good service from Sciencus and am sad they are gone.
Has anyone had a delivery from personal home care yet? If so was it ok.
By the looks of it on their message to me, they want to send a nurse out plus drop off a sharps bin - which I don’t want as have one here from Sciencus ( though unlike sciencus they don’t appear to collect full ones rather they refer you to the council/pharmacists ??)
Tnx

Oh what a shame. Sciensus been fine for me since one delivery driver was so foul and abusive and had to be disciplined in May 2020. Hope things settle down for you. The Sciensus app locks me out re my email and tells me it is wrong!! Nope it’s their page.
Glad to hear it’s good for you as well. They are very efficient and bang on time deliveries and pleasant drivers (since the odd, shouting one!) and they text me a delivery day and option to change if I can’t get the app to work but it’s my phone’s fault re the app and not them, so I’ve no complaints either! 🤞🏻 x
this now makes sense of a very confusing situation. As usual, my hospital have told me NOTHING! Honestly they are so so awful. They cancel apps without ever letting me know & then the gaslighting! Anyway, I noticed my Sciencus prescription has been cancelled. I went to my chart & it says that a prescription has been sent to HomeCare Services (never heard of them) and I should go pick it up!! I have no idea what is going g on! If I call the hospital there is only a voicemail now, and it’s very hard to actually speak to anyone. I’m really at the end of my tether. Anyway, thank you for this post. It now makes sense at least.
I had the letter about changing about a month or so ago.I've had issues with Sciensus in the past but lately they had improved. Not heard from this company yet and I'm down to my last Imraldi injection. I had another dubious letter saying if I have Sciensus contact me about next delivery to say nothing to them about the change. They are also changing me to Yuflyma. Is this because new company can't get Imraldi? I'm worried my deliveries won't be convenient because I work mornings and on website they say the only deliver 8-6. No evening or weekend delivery like Sciensus. Sharps bin issue is vague. As if we don't have enough to deal with.
That’s what happened to me. I was lucky with Sciencus in never having a problem but this lot seem very ropey. They’ve no app. Their website is atrocious. I despair. Plus am also moving to Yuflyma.
look like we are in the same boat. The sharps bin is an issue for me as am miles from a pharmacy and it’s bad enough getting my rubbish collected from the council let alone get onto their sharps scheme. Life is awkward enough.
I am in two injections. methoject is still being delivered by Sciensus and the new Idacio one is being delivered by home care healthnet from end of July. Also need a nurse to show me what to do apparently, will see how the new service goes. I have never had a problem with Sciensus - been lucky I suppose 🤷♀️
it will be a contracting decision made by the individual Hospital Trust as to which company they use. Sciensus is still operational.
Not a peep. I m thinking of moving NHS Trust for my rheumatology anyway
The manufacturer of yuflima the new medication also own personal home care pharmacy services. I took ages to settle onto Amgevita and don’t want to risk that.
I was harassed by the main hospital pharmacy some years back re changing to a biosimilar and my rheumy based in the smaller hospital didn’t even know about it. The idea apparently was that pharmacy swapped people then told rheumatology. Not good. My rheumy said I had to remain on the original med and not change and emailed the pharmacist whilst I was in the rheumy clinic with her, who was trying to put pressure on and told them to stop. I had a good case to stay as I was and not aggravate anything by a change. Can you ask your rheumy? I thought by the NICE regs they were required to consult you, not just change you?
I found Senscius really good too. The App was great and the delivery updates reassuring. My med (Ababtacept - Orencia) has now changed to Lloyds Healthcare at home. I'm less impressed by them - no app, no updates. Just a message "our offices are now closed, your delivery time can't be changed". I've has one failed delivery already, which never happened with Senscius. In mitigation I did change the delivery address and my sister took a couple of minutes to get to the door because she was upstairs. I was told that the round is very busy and there is no waiting time built in, I didn't find that a great answer. They wouldn't collect my Senscious sharps bin, which is I suppose understandable. Senscious did collect it after I e-mailed. You can get through on the phone after a long wait, but the App was so much better. I guess the new companies are cheaper? the way of the world! I hope you get on alright with your new company once things settle down. Michele
My delivery was always Sciencus but they were unreliable sometimes. Then about a year ago (might be a bit longer) Got a phone call from Lloyd's Pharmacy to say they had taken over from Sciencus. They have been very good with calls to arrange delivery and also keep me informed on delivery day of eta.👍👍
I ve had great service from Sciencus but I suppose it’s not just about me. I ve written to my rheumatologist about it as have been stable with Amgevita now am moving onto Yuflyma which is made by Celltrion who own personal home care. Though it’s probably a waste of time.
