Does anyone take Omega 3 supplements for Rheumatoid Arthritis if so do they help so many brands out there.

Omega 3
I’m interested too. My first rheumatologist said don’t bother taking them but I have osteoarthritis as well so thinking I will.
Interestingly, according to Versus Arthritis, studies have shown it probably reduces Rheumatoid Arthritis symptoms but doesn’t do anything for osteoarthritis. versusarthritis.org/about-a...
Don't worry so much about the brand. A professor of neuroscience told me you need to read the label and get the one that has the highest DHA in the pill.
I do because when I first diagnosed my rheumatologist told me to. I have no idea if they help but it’s not going to harm me. I just buy the high strength ones from the supermarket.
Interestingly Omega 3 seems to be only supplement which has proved in studies to make a difference to Rheumatoid Arthritis and there is another trial taking place. versusarthritis.org/about-a...
I was diagnosed with RA about 5years ago and I remember at my first consultation the consultant went through all the supplements I was taking. Some are not advised with RAmeds but Omega 3 was a must as far as he was concerned. So I take it everyday. Not sure exactly what it does but the box says it's good for vision, brain and heart health. Since RA inflammation can affect the heart if uncontrolled maybe that's the connection.
Hope you get on with it.
When first diagnosed I read an article saying you need very high levels. It was a few years ago so I'm thinking they said 1500mg. I take seven seas joint max. They are expensive but if you shop around for offers you can get them. Do they help who knows. They don't do any harm. My arthritis is very active but my joints show relatively little changes....so far.
Yes I’ve taken them since diagnosis 7 years ago. As others have said, no idea if they do anything!
I take them, but they’re helpful for other reasons for me. I hate fish so have hunted down a brand which IS fish based, has higher EPA vs DHA and doesn’t give fishy burps!

I have it on a rolling subscription.
I do, I use EcoPura, vegan omega 3 algae oil DHA capsules for brain and eye. I originally took omega 3 DHA for my bones when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2020 and I’ve been taking them ever since. I discovered they make a big difference to my dry eyes. Can definitely recommend these. I get them from Amazon.
No fishy unpleasant aftertaste
Don’t take any supplements until you have the OK from your rheumy. A lot of people have slowed down controlling their disease because the supplements they have taken have fought against their prescribed medication.
Thanks for responding all
read the Cochrane report:

They concluded that it was not preventative for cardiovascular disease.
My conclusions are that a good varied diet is better than supplements, but probably not much cheaper.
I take flaxseed oil and find it very effective. I take on tablespoon of organic virgin flaxseed oil dialy in my cereal. also fish oils .
wish I could find a brand that doesn’t upset my tummy ☹️
