Car cushion

Hi! I'm looking for some way of making car travel more comfortable for tail-bone and hips, especially during longer journeys. I'm quite small-framed and would like just some kind of seat cushion that would remain in place as I'm helped into the car from my wheelchair. Thanks!

Hi. Others have posted about this . If you look to the right of your post you should see one that says car cushion recommendations.

I have bad problems with pain in the car and feel every pot hole or lowered drains. I have started using my foam wheelchair cushion. It has made a marked improvement in my pain levels. It also has the benefit of being waterproof, fits the car seat without moving and removes the need to store it elsewhere in the car. Despite being foam it does not appear to make me hotter. Really hope this can help you.

I use a cocccyx cushion, where there’s a section it out, so the tailbone isn’t sitting on anything. Ivan then use it wherever I’m staying. Also raises me up higher, making it easier to get in and out of the car.

Not sure about cushion but if you have a OT . I got a turntable cushion to put on seat in car for my mum .It makes it easier to swing legs round if unable to move. It will take the strain off the person helping you in ( it did me!)
