Quick recap, July was really tired (crap GP said I was menopausal at 46)
August got cellulitis two antibiotics and start to feel worse.
Last week 49 hrs in a+e.
Currently still in hospital.
Had five days IV antibiotics.
Finally see rheumy Dr...he thinks it's a bad flare affecting my whole body basically and probably didn't need antibiotics....or anticlot injections.
He thinks my biologic not working.
Need more tests to see if can better define type of arthritis and back to 20mg pred.
Starting to notice improvement already.
Hoping to escape hospital today.
Missed third child starting big school, all children going back to school (at least over here no issues with raac).
Farmer husband had to take 5 children to Clark's for school shoes.
Third child's dog had massive epileptic fit, couldn't be saved and was put down and I'm stuck in here not able to help her or the dog.
However, rheumy seems confident I can be helped so I might not be starring down the barrel of having to sell my business, not be able to work and potential divorce if I had to stay at house and be a full time farmers wife.

Glad to hear you're feeling better already, what a relief after all you've been through. Hope they find out what type of arthritis it is soon and get you on the right med. What a shame about the dog, your poor daughter must be so upset! Hope you're back on track soon. 🤞 x
Sounds awful. The cost of 5 pairs of shoes makes me feel dizzy. The issues with the dog would have finished me off. Your poor daughter!
It’s so difficult waiting for diagnosis, you’re life is so busy anyway.
Hopefully you’ll find a way through it all. When I was younger, working nights with 3 children, I used to find bribery useful, also had an exercise/ communication book for us all to communicate stuff. Take care
That’s good. What struck me from your post was the thought of having to buy 5 pairs of kids shoes atonce. Never mind the cost, the stress of 5 children choosing shoes.
I missed your update a few days ago, caught up now. What a time you are having. I'm so sorry to hear of all your and your families problems.Hopefully a better diagnosis and treatment comes your way soon.
what a time you’re having! So glad there seems to be a resolution coming of sorts but I’m bemused about how they could have got it so wrong. Sending you all the best and good luck with the return to act and the ups and downs of family life! Bon x
Poor you. Staying in hospital has given u far too much time to overthink things….as most women do (sorry men). My husband always says that I am negative! Just wonder what he would be like if boot was on the other foot (wouldnt wish RA on him tho). Looks like things are improving for you and the status quo at home will be resumed. Take care
Sounded a bit like my average week, different problems maybe but this is life including our health issues. My friend lost both her dogs in the last two months its like losing a part of the family isn't it ? Glad you are beginning to feel better , hope the improvement continues so you can get on with the nice things in life. I smiled at the bit about menopausal at 46 been that way myself years ago, and the one about sight beginning to fail in my thirties. But at the time it is not nice when you feel so ill. Often people with full lives do not have time for their own me time, but as we get a little older we need more time. So my tip set aside some me time for yourself and see how that can help. Best wishes
What a rotten time for you and your family. Makes my problems trying to get the meds right seem very insignificant! Hope that light at the end of the tunnel shines brighter for you every day 🌞
Oh my goodness! What a time you have had. Juggling 5 children, living on a farm, having your own business and having a major RA as well as dealing with the death of a beloved pe-It is epic. I think you are a champ and deserve a gold star!(I used to teach first grade and handed them out for rewards) Seriously, I wish you better health and lots of appreciation from your husband and family.
Hi, Did you have children whilst having RA? My 31 year old daughter has RA and would like to have a baby, but being on Enbrel and MTX is tricky, she was diagnosed when 17 years old, been on meds since 2009 to now, 15 years. Any suggestions from anyone would be most welcome please.
No I had my children before my diagnosis but I think you can have children after an RA diagnosis. You would need a change in medication. Speak to the consultant or rheumatology nurses. Hopefully it will work out for your family.
