Foot Fusion on Biologics

Has any one had foot surgery ( taviculalar fusion ) and on the biological Rituximab?

How did it go please?

How was the healing did anyone have problems?

As having surgery and on Rituximab.

I had minor hand surgery in February & went ahead with a Rtx infusion in April.I have been on Rtx for 6 years. Both my rheumatologist & the hand surgeon assured me it was safe,& they were right. The wound healed quickly & well with so sign of infection.

Do speak to your doctors if you are worried….neither a surgeon nor your rheumy doctor would advise your operation if they thought being on Rituximab would cause problems.

I had a big operation June last year and 5 others over the past 3 years while on rituximab, all have been fine but what I do if the rituximab is due before the op I delay it until at least a month after to give my body the best chance of healing.Hope this helps

I had my Rituximab in May so due operation in November so hopefully 🤞 I will heal ok. Thanks for reply. Appreciate it.
