Wrist fusion

Just had left full wrist fusion on Tuesday. Hopefully this is the last of my wrist surgeries because the SLAC Surgery didn’t work and now its fused. Oxy has been good to me so far....I just will be glad to have no cast or leather splint on anymore. ,,,,,at 68 in good health I shouldn’t complain.....life iOS too short especially with the Covid virus issue......did the test prior to surgery and was surprised it was a a different experience then I was expecting.

Stay safe, stay well, stay smiling,

Hi, I hope you recover well from

The surgery and aren’t in too much pain. Just wondering what the wrist fusion involves? It’s my wrists that cause the most problems even when well controlled on meds.

Take care and stay safe x

Putting a plate in the wrist to offset pain from movement. Lose wrist mobility.

Speedy recovery and stay safe too.

Can I ask in what way was the test different to your expectations? (I'm just being nosey !)

Not sure what your asking. I had slac surgery prior to this plate fusion because it didn’t work.

Maybe I read your post incorrectly, you said you did the test prior to surgery and was surprised it was a different experience, I thought you meant the covid test and wondered what was unexpected?

Hope your recovery goes well. I had my wrist fused in November. It’s so good to have gotten rid of the pain now.

Hi 😊

Keep safe and hope your recovery is OK.

Take them pain killer's if sore!

My wrist ops were some of the first I had.. My left wrist has been in since about 2000 and still fine. Right one giving me a bit jip .. But I guess you're right gets more use.

One of the most successful surgeries I've had.

Keep safe and well

I've had both wrists fused and whilst you lose complete flexibility, there is no pain. I hope you have a good recovery and can look forward to a pain free wrist
