PIP assessment report

just received my report and WOW what a lot of lies!

it starts off by saying I live with my husband, partner & 2 cats. Well I’ve never met the husband or cats so no idea where they are hiding!

And it just gets worse from there 😡

I’m not justifying it but mistakes happen so before you do anything ask them have you been muddled up with someone else? If so then it may be your report isn’t different if not then did you keep a copy of the original application? Then you will be informed and better able to ask for reconsideration. Perhaps a mistake or confusion has arisen because of the way the questions were answered but it does seem very likely to be an error. Best of luck and I hope it’s a simple mistake.

Definitely my report. The mistakes are shocking. I even use a walking stick! Well no I don’t. Apparently I can peel vegetables because I use a walking stick. That I’ve not even got & on it goes 🤦🏻‍♀️

Did you keep a copy of your application because I’d use it in the review. It’s hard to see how they got it so wrong. They must be able to justify the decision and how the husband has been invented as your claim would surely ask marital status. Or is your partner the confusion being shown as a common law husband. If you don’t have a partner it’s mind boggling how such an invention has occurred. That seems to me to be utter confusion I can’t believe they’d invent a husband or partner primarily because that is easily checked on electoral roll, council records etc you could send copies of any bills in your name like council tax to support a review. I’m not saying you’ve made a mistake as that is absurd just that it would be so stupid to invent a cohabited. Even electricity or phone bill, rent book or mortgage details will support your case. I’m appalled a cat or two being materially relevant really is weird but a person is a very strange. I’d urge you to go through the report , point by point and put it in writing for a review. Good luck and it is so stressful when mistakes happen but don’t give up be concise and show how each error is an error easily proved to be such.

Hi Did you have an assessor write your report? you know that they are paid mega bucks, they have spurious qualifications and paid to remove as many people they can. I was asked to lift my feet off the ground. because I could , about an inch, I could walk miles. I'm in a wheelchair. The man that came and assessed me said he was a nurse from Ireland. He knew nothing. Asking me when my arthritis was going to get better. It was an insult to me and the nursing profession. I'm an ex nurse. Everything that was on his report was made up. You must appeal it. Provide evidence. If that does not work take it to appeal. It takes time but its worth it. I fought and won. I now get maximum which was awarded for 10 years. It was one hell of a fight but I am glad I did. Stay strong and angry.

I would also take it up with your local MP as they need to be aware of what is happening to people in their constituencies. Take care and sending some supportive wishes. xx

Deary me! Join Benefits & Work or Fightback ASAP and get on it. This is beyond appalling. Good Luck in your fight ✊🏻

my assessment was riddled with inaccuracies and her personal take on the fact I look nicely dressed .. I asked for mandatory , I took each section and counter argued each point. It took a lot and caused pain in my hands . Had an assessment by telephone I think he was medically trained as he was steering me towards answers especially toilet needs . I believe he knew what was RA and its complexities . Original assessor was only bothered about getting lost as sat nav went wrong way . She went on and on about. Put that in my report too . Good luck don’t give up . 😂😂😂sorry chuckling her husband and 2 cats what’s cats got to do with RA? Or any other illness

Well Rachel43, It seems you have become another victim of poor written reports. Its quite frightening. First and fourmost challenge the incorrect facts or they will continue through on your records for years to come just like incorrect medical records. It seems to be a general trend with written records these days, but digital/computer records are similar once a incorrect fact is recorded it seems to stay for ever. And it seems your data if you buy from a company stays somewhere in that companies records for ever too. Back to your PIP assessment , if social facts are incorrect are you sure the medical facts are correct? Heres an example I have been a widow for 19 years but because my title is MRS people presume there is a MR. Make a point of questioning every item in the report that is incorrect, do you know anyone who can write a report about how your disability /illness effects your ability to do ordinary daily tasks like able bodied do. If asthmatic having cats /pets could effect your illness, but could help your emotional health if you live alone. I personally feel assessors of disability should be more disability aware as should those who help fill in claims forms for the disabled. I wish you every best wish with a reveiw of your claim ,complaint and appeal if necessary. If the facts are incorrect how can the person assessing your claim to entitlement get it correct. Sorry this is a little long. Good Luck. sorry this is a bit long

Siunds like someone has got you mixed up with another client. My friend got results about her osteoporosis that said she had refused part of her treatment which was rubbish - they had mixed her up with another patient and sent out the wrong results.

I had a face to face consultation with an endo who said in the doctor’s report that we had had a telephone consultation and I had given her some sort of permissions - load of rubbish.

I hope you get it sorted out. I mean a husband and two cats that you hadn’t noticed. You’ll need to get full details of them from the PIP person. That should be interesting - like Deeb 1764 says copy everyone you can think of into your reply. Good luck.

Most people win on appeal - Just appeal and point out " Well I’ve never met the husband or cats so no idea where they are hiding!" This is there fault but even if accurate I fail to see what it has to do with PIP claim.

You are awarded PIP on help you need even if you had 26 husbands and cats,

26 husbands OMG that would win a PIP award on its own!

When you did your application you did have a partner though? Didn’t they leave recently, I remember you posting about it so maybe they’re taking that from the form? (Sorry to bring it up) 🤷🏻‍♀️ as for the cats I have no suggestion other than as others have said to make sure it’s your report and not someone elses. 🤞🏻 for you.

Sounds like a cut and paste job gone badly wrong. Buy hey, it isn't your problem that the quality of these reports is shockingly low...admitted too in the past.Challenge and you will most probably be successful.

What a hassle for you.
