Good luck pip assessors in general are very negative . Don’t worry if they don’t award you anything. 75% are turned down originally then over turned at tribunals. I’m awaiting my tribunal🤞🏻let’s us know how you get on.
Thank you x
🤞
Well just back from assessment which I think was a bit farcical tbh. I arrived early and was promptly told oh we have been trying to contact you to cancel as the HP is not well today 😳 well I’d had no missed calls at all, I was told if the next appointment doesn’t come in I could be seen if I wanted to wait... so I waited two appointments turned up so I said well does that mean I will have to be rescheduled? No, there are 3 HPs apparently 🤷♀️ I was then told the HP was there and was running 20 minutes late so I would be seen.
When I was called in the assessor was a youngish girl who had been sat in her office since before I arrived with her door open - never mind at least I was seen, she fired loads of questions at me with her typing all the way through, she didn’t really listen to what I had to say or how I was feeling other than stipulated answers to questions, really quite hard, no empathy at all.... so we shall see, she told me her report would be sent to DWP today, but they could take up to 4 weeks to get back to me. I asked for a copy of her report but she said I would have to request this from the DWP.
I don’t feel very confident of a positive decision but hey ho... 😕
I think what you experienced is pretty standard. They type away don’t make eye contact and as you say no empathy. Don’t be surprised if what they record bares no resemblance to what you actually said.(mine didn’t) my Gp said he has a patient who is paralysed from the waist down and they said he mobility was ok as he could move himself from bed to a chair. Beggars belief
I was successful at Mandatory appeal good luck. CAB helped me with my MR
All the best xxx
Don't give up Stats12, go to the bitter end of a tribunal if you need too. As you say the Assessor only wants answers to her 'tick box' questions and does not listen or quote on their assessment of you exactly what you are telling them about your daily care and mobility. Whilst you are waiting for your mandatory reply gather together all results from Consultants, including any letters. Ask your GP and Consultant to write a letter as to your disability so that you can forward to the DWP. Keep the forum informed, it is great for helping others . Take Care.
