Well it's arrived my letter for a face to face. It's next Saturday. Going to take my husband in with me for support. Hope I get someone who understands what we have to go through. At the moment I get high mobility with DLA so have a Motobility car. They gave extended my lease till I get the verdict,if it goes against me then bye bye car .😐 wish me luck 🍀

I've just had my PIP renewal assessment & you'll know the drill having gone through DLA so I'll just say be yourself, tell it how it is, answer as directly as you're questioned, no need to over elaborate. I believe the two are somewhat different, I don't know your circumstances but I hope you're awarded enhanced mobility in order to keep your car. Just keep in mind the descriptor & you shouldn't go far wrong. I'm hoping I've provided enough evidence this time to qualify for standard.

I had my GP yesterday in pleats yesterday telling her about having a blip... the Assessor asked me something & I was saying "I sometimes have" & I couldn't remember the word & went round all the houses trying to find it. The assessor looked at her screen (I guess at my uploaded form) & said "do you mean have cognitive problems?" Talk about fortuitous, I couldn't have planned it!

It's good you're being accompanied by your husband, it helps having the support of someone you live with, understands how it is & knows you better than anyone. If you can do let us know how you think it went. All the best.

Nomoreheels the annoying thing about it all is I've been on DLA for 22yrs and things still the same RA not gone away In fact if anything it's got worse with over 10 joint replacement ops and on biological for last 6yrs. So not going to get better am I 😯

I know what you mean, we're all in the same boat. We all have chronic diseases, it's as if they don't know what chronic means.

Yes good luck it's so stressful, I'm 70 nxt and had to go through it lost my car but got everything bk and bk dated after mandatory consideration did not have to have face to face again but the assessor made loads of mistakes on the first one so it's worth having it all copied to look bk on 👍

Thanks. It's the waiting for the post each day that gets to you. On plus side I'm still able to drive my Motobility car which I'd have to return if I lost higher mobility component. X

GL! Not familiar with your system, but it sounds like it’s bit of a trial. Hope things go well for you :)

Thankyou. our benefits system changed a while ago and now it seems if you can walk at all ( which we all have to do to get to our cars) you may lose higher mobility component which determines whether you can apply for a Motobility car. Was on disability living allowance which was fairer. Xx
