New flat

well guys moved into my new flat yesterday and goint tomorrow to clean old flat! I am exhausted and got a flipping headache now, feels like a migraine. My flat is organised chaos. My partner jim is still in hospital, he has been in a week now. He has had to come of his immune therapy Infusions as they made his kidneys worse and he got an infection. He is on a drip and steroids . I dont think they are putting him on anymore treatment. I am very worried because if he doesn't get on treatment he will die. No one is telling us anything and the communication is via hull consultant to Scunthorpe. He seems in good spirits considering but he is very concerned about not going on any treatment. I just wanted to tell someone.

Luckily I have another week off work so I can sort out my new flat and try and rest up. Thanks for listening. Take care.

Best of luck with everything. It’s no wonder you’re getting a migraine. Take care xx

I hope you get your flat sorted. Your partner’s condition must be very worrying. From my experience, (my husband was in hospital for two weeks in 2020) it is very hard to get a straight answer from nursing staff or drs. I hope you get some good news soon.

I hope you realise that you are doing amazingly well to cope as well as you are with everything you're having to deal with. Don't do more than you absolutely have to!

Hope that you get a bit of down time over the next week and there's some good news about Jim soon 💐

I'm sorry to hear this Carol, you're both really going through it. The flat will get sorted eventually so take it easy, you have more than enough to cope with. I agree with Bl and hope you get some good news soon about your partner. Best wishes to you both. xx

I m really sorry to hear about your partner’s problem and lack of information. That seems to be the way with hospitals.

I can’t add anything useful other than don’t worry about the chaos in your new flat you can sort that out any time. Don’t make yourself I’ll over the old flat - could you get a cleaning company in for a couple of hours?

I was absolutely shocked when one of my sons told me he did that to be sure he got his deposit back when he moved houses, but he worked long hours and had limited time.

Anyway look after yourself and I’m sending you my best wishes. x

make sure you do some ME time even if you think you can’t. A quiet moment with a cuppa or watching 30mins of tv or a walk. Big hugs x

Bad communication on top of everything else you have to cope with is really not what you and your partner need. If you have the strength, tell the you deserve better! Hopefully you will get some time for healing rest and recovery. xxx

On one occasion I was so fed up with not knowing what the treatment plan was, that I wrote on a piece of paper "I need to know what the treatment plan is" and held it up whenever the doctors came to see me. After a slight look of panic from the 'junior' doctor, I got a visit from his senior who did his best to explain what they had in mind.
