Saw rheumatology nurse and explained that things were going well and then typically, my hands start kicking off. Very swollen and sore. 🥲. Hopefully all will be well in a few days!

Ouch - send the photo to your nurse?

Ooh! They look so sore. You need to stress how bad they are when you ring and insist on seeing someone. Sadly, those who shout loudest get heard these days. Good luck

I think you should get back in touch with the rheumatology nurse. That's definitely a flare!

Gosh, your poor hands, that looks really painful. Think I’d send that photo to your nurse and ask for help.

Thanks everyone. I sent the photo to the rheum nurse and she just said, you had bloods done last week and they were fine so see how it goes and if it doesn’t improve, have another blood test and then maybe steroids. This is so annoying because my ESR was 32 and CRP 21, which is high but normal for me since diagnosed. Why is everything about blood results!! Can she not see from the photo?!🙄. Anyway slightly less swollen today but still painful. X

The nurse's reaction seems a bit heartless to me. The bloods might be normal for you, but they are still up and your hands are very swollen, which is a new symptom. You will need to keep an eye on your ring finger to see that it doesn't get too tight...I had my wedding ring cut off last year for that reason. I feel for you, painful hands affect everything you do, pretty much. From experience steroids do help. I hope you get some relief soon, xx

It’s hard when you are in pain and you don’t feel like they are looking at whole picture. Inflammation in the hands like that is very painful. Good luck 😉
