Painful stiff hands

For the last three nights I am waking up with such stiff painful hands I am on 2000mg of Sulphalazerine and 200mg of HYDROX I so hope they calm down and don't get worse ☹️ Such a worry not knowing how your going to feel from one day to the next X Rant over, I can do this !!! Happy Christmas lovely warriors ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Try to keep them moving, if they are are extremely stiff out your hands into a dish of warm water and move them around doing pincer grip exercises and making fists.

I have had problems with my hands for 20 years and I totally lost the use of them over night, but physio gave them exercises like that and when they start to stiffen I put them in water and exercise them, unfortunately I never got full use of them back and I’m still unable to make drinks for myself, but stay positive and have a good Christmas

Do you wear night splints? I found that when I went through waking up with them closed up and very stiff that the splints helped, although they still needed work in warm water to get them moving again. And using a wax baths before going to bed seemed to help me.

I agree with Oldtimer, wearing the hospital night resting splints do help a lot, I would be lost without the tennis rackets as I affectionately called them.

I used to wear splints at night, because some how in my sleep I took them off & next morning I used to find them all over the place, so i gave up on them.

I was told off my phyo to get some kids soft sponge balls and roll hands and fingers and squeeze them I’m not saying it helps my fingers and wrists but it keeps them moving plus I’ve some heated gloves x
