Mmmm! I wouldn't be going anywhere if I were you. I have heard conflicting reports. A friend's husband had it and she had same symptoms but always tested negative. Her GP said she must have had it as symptoms were the same but a doctor on TV said that if you test negative it isn't covid but another virus as there are at least 100 about at any given time. I would always err on the side of caution. I would never forgive myself if I knowingly passed it on to someone else.

I have a couple of friends who took a couple of days to test positive. I would test again to make sure before going anywhere.

My DIL tested negative twice last Saturday and then tested positive that same evening. A friend of mine who is a retired doctor has all the symptoms like you but is still testing negative whilst her partner tested positive. There is a very nasty virus going around at the moment with similar symptoms to Covid but seems to last longer!

Hope you feel better soon.

My work colleague tested positive 2 weeks ago we had the same symptoms my PCR was negative but I am still feeling ill now with all symptoms. Everyday my LFT is negative. There is a horrible bug going around

I have recently had COVID, tested positive - I tested as soon as I felt ill. My husband started to have symptoms following day he tested negative. 2 days later he was worse, tested negative again. This was repeated until he tested positive on the Saturday after symptoms started Tuesday morning. I think if you have symptoms and someone you have been in close contact with has tested positive the chances are you have COVID and should act accordingly.

The tests are not fantastic, lots of false readings. There are also a few bugs floating round ATM. I had a sick bug that wiped the floor with me last week.

My partner tested positive in February and it took 10 days before I tested positive, I started to feel unwell on the Monday but didn't test positive until the Friday. I stayed at home from the Tuesday because I felt really unwell although I was testing negative. Fingers crossed that you stay well

Thank you for your input , I am not going anywhere ! I feel really awful , zapped , in pain , cold , I’m staying home .

Thank you to everyone who replied I’ll try another test later today x

Keep hydrated take some paracetamol if you can take it. Its a bit late to take vitamin D as it takes a couple of weeks for your body process it, but it will help you get back to normal quicker. Zinc helps along with vitamin C.Even if its normal seasonal flu this all helps .

Above all don't worry. Family will keep an eye on you, your body needs to rest.

When I had covid it made me feel rotten body and mind. I take cholecalciferol 800iu ( the active form of Vitamin D3) so doubled my daily does for a couple of days. Day 7 I was unwell, day eighth I felt better than I have for year my lungs where a bit soar. But I could breath with ease as if I hadn't smoked for 50 years. This was in October last year. And I still breath easier.

What I'm saying is look after yourself but don't worry about thinking it might be covid. This latest Variant has more in common with an average flu than the Original covid virus.

It's still something to keep an eye on, but now is the time to relax, pamper yourself and don't worry.

8 hope this helps and you feel better soon, take care

Although my symptoms were those of a bad chesty cold, which I often get - no dry cough or sore throat-I still tested positive . Take care and look after yourself 🤗

You're welcome. I took paracetamol and kept hydrated. I also rested a lot. Funnily enough it never affected my sense of smell or taste. Yet my husband tested positive and had the 'classic' symptoms 🙄

On Boxing Day my cousin had his son, DIL and their family over for the day. After dinner their granddaughter was contacted by work to say that her latest regular Covid test was positive. After playing the new party game of group LFTs, her husband also tested positive for Covid, although neither of them felt unwell. Over the next few days everyone who had attended the party began to feel unwell and all except three had positive LFT tests. One of those had a positive PCR test and two just felt too unwell to get to a testing centre and assumed that the LFTs repeated every day they felt ill were wrong. Make what you will of this.

It’s difficult isn’t it I’m definitely not subjecting anyone to this I’m containing myself at home . It wiped me out actually every part of my body hurts I’m not going anywhere. Thank you for sharing this 😉

Zoe was saying on their last Youtube that 20% - one in five- of negative Lateral Flow tests in people with symptoms were positive on retesting with PCR, which is a more accurate test.

Their advice was -if you have symptoms don't mix with other people anyway whatever it is, both for protecting your own health (i.e. don't do too much when you're ill, let your body heal itself) and protecting others from whatever you have.

False positive tests are less common (can't remember the statistics).

Call 119 & see if they advise a PCR test…..Otherwise I believe the latest advice is to isolate & wait for three negative LFTs….but this advice seems to change daily.

I’ve tested positive now - it’s gone to my chest too . X

I'm sorry you feel so awful and I do hope you improve quickly. Don't hesitate to seek medical advice if you start to feel worse or have breathing problems.

This OMICRON variant is not just like flu in some people, despite what Tourk has said.

People with underlying health conditions and suppressed immunity like most of us may find it affects them more than just like a cold or flu.

I agree vitamin D supplementation can be beneficial, REST, lots of fluids, and paracetamol or ibuprofen too.

My teacher friend has been very ill and although she tested negative after 8 days still feels very ill. She finds she gets breathless on the slightest exertion and her sinuses are affected too: she is having to do regular steam inhalations to ease the discomfort.

Interestingly sinus affection, with or without Covid, is prevalent at the moment, according to Dr Poonam on Morning Live this morning. She advises inhalations too and ibuprofen or paracetamol, plenty of fluids and rest.

Thank you for your time lolabridge . Tested positive now still feeling poorly now gone onto my chest I’ve lost my voice too . Been very quiet in our house !!

My energy levels are poor , I too get tired quickly . I was hoping to be better by now but at this rate I don’t know .

My apatite has gone , I’ve lost a few pounds too.

I’m not taking my medication either just in case .

If I don’t feel any better by Wednesday I think I’ll contact the doctor

🤞 x

Sorry to hear this. Take it easy. Rest and then rest some more. Don’t try to do anything other than look after yourself so your body can put all its energy into healing you. Sleep lots. Do seek medical advice if you’re still suffering on Wednesday, especially if your breathing is affected.

Until then keep well hydrated (honey and lemon is good) paracetamol, sleep propped up if you can. My friend found Night Nurse helped to suppress the cough so she could sleep but check it’s ok for you to take it.

Hope you feel better soon but it could take a few more days yet I’m sorry to tell you. 💐

Thank you Lola 💜I will rest I promise , I’ve been doing bits and bibs around the house which are wiping me out to be honest .

I’m not usually one to sit but covid is teaching me otherwise xox thank you 🙏🏻 💜xxxx
