Hi guys just tested positive for COVID! Am a bit shocked only just haf a covid jab on a week Thursday. I started feeling ill on Saturday but thought I had a cold with a horrendous headache that I cannot get rid off!! It has progressed to a cough, sore throat and sneezing. Feel exhausted a bit like a flare apart from the headache. This is my first time having covid. I rang work up and said not going in and they said to ring up on Tuesday to say when I am going back. Can we get some anti viral something do you know. I have been online to get dome more covid tests as I only have 2 left. I wasnt going to a test as thought it was just a cold. But my partner is back in hospital again and I was suppose to be going yo see him tomorrow. So thought I'd better get a test done. Am pleased I did. Downside is I cant see him now for a few days.
I have at last moved into my new place and got my new sofa at last so I can lounge on it now while being ill. Take care everyone.

Sorry to hear it got you. I got it back in April- like you, about a week after I had my jab . I had a chesty cold, and thought that's all it was, until hubby had a sore throat and tested positive, so I did a test too.I dont know about anti virals as I didn't bother, but I'm sure there will be others who can advise.
I caught Covid in March. I already had a PCR test so when my lft said I was positive I had to report my result to the NHS and then do the same with the PCR - not sure if the initials. I was rung up by a nurse who wrote down all my meds, it took a long time because I was on 25! She said I probably get anti virals because I was on methotrexate and also she could hear my lungs were bad. The dr confirmed that I would need and antiviral infusion and I had it 2 days after my lft. It worked really well. I hope you get well quickly and you get to see your partner in hospital soon.
As covid incubates for 3-7 days just coincidence you got covid. If you are on biological meds you can request antivirals but you need them up to 5th day after that they aren't prescribed
sorry to hear that. It’s just unfortunate.Maybe you already had start of covid before vaccine. There are lots of coughs n colds n headaches that can be missed before full blown covid. You need to start antivirals by day 5 and even thou on biologic would not necessarily mean you would qualify. When I caught covid I had a letter sent saying I qualified but when I rang for help was denied it as wasn’t too bad.You will have to test negative before you can go out for hospital visits. It took 10 days til I did..
I tested positive for covid last week, exact same symptoms as you. Spoke with my GP who sorted out antivirals for me. I got a call from the covid team and antivirals were delivered the next day from the local hospital. I am over the worst now, just have the cough lingering. Hope you feel much better soon. X
Sorry to hear your news about the virus, hopefully you will soon be feeling better , its taken me some time to recover from a bout in july. Best wishes to your partner for a good recovery from thier hospital stay. Enjoy your lounging on the sofa, hope things pick up for you soon.
My rheumatologist said I should have had anti virals because I was on a biologic, give your GP or 111 a call and push for them. Covid dragged on and messed with my thyroid this time.
Canada as well. Biologics are used after traditional first line treatments (for ex: Methotrexate) don’t work or you can’t take. I am on a biologic. I’ve been on two. First was Rituxan, which didn’t work. Now am on biologic #2 for last 4 years. This one is called Orencia. Biologics May be self injected weekly or in my case delivered intravenously. In my case I go to an infusion center once a month to receive my meds. I’d rather only have side effects monthly as opposed to weekly when I was injecting 1x a week. Speak to your rheumatologist. They are the only ones who can decide if you need a biologic and write the prescription. Biologics are usually quite pricey ($25K a year give or take) so you may have to battle with your insurance provider.
Hi. I had covid after getting back from holiday. Tested positive and sent the test off. Next day had a phone call from my hospital can I come in, in 2 days time to have an infusion in my arm. 2 days later tested negative. Hope you get better soon.
