Morning all, hope this Monday finds you not too bad.
Just wondering if any of you use front opening bras, if so where do you get them from please? Need size 38FF which not many companies seem to do. Thank you

Have you tried Miss Mary of Sweden? That was one I tried I can remember. Look on the Simply Be website I think I found more there. However, I didn’t like any and went back to struggling with my old bras. I did buy some bra extenders which helped me put them on back to front and turn them around.
Hope you can find something suitable and comfortable 🤞🏻
I have always turned them round to fasten them then swivelled them back, even before RA.
Me too!
I fasten them, then step into the bra and pull it up my body. It often ends with one or more hook undone though and I end up asking my husband to help! Front fastening bras would be useful, I remember having some for breast feeding years ago. However, I’d rather be measured and fitted with a bra by a trained fitter than take a chance online.
Yes I totally agree Embriony
Me too. However it got harder for me after breast surgery and front closure bras were easier but they are hard to find.
I’m sorry to hear that Bonnie
Me too .. hope you are alright at the moment Bonnie. 💗
I'm still wearing some of my breast surgery bras from M & S, really comfortable after my surgery.
I hope you are fully recovered and well. 💗
yes I'm very well thank you, this was December 2017 xx
I’m very glad to hear you are well. 💗xx
I'm back to work after this elbow surgery and its going well. I have square eyes after catching up on my refresher training we have to do every 3 months, I had all this year's from January. I met a friend after work for a smoothie, it was nice xx
Hope work went well and your elbow is not painful Flor1ence.
hello Goldsky, yes work is going well, spent the day today catching up on refresher training, things change and updates etc. I went to sports shop after work, wasn't planned hence I had Xmas socks on in my boots! The shop assistant says he does the same otherwise they never get worn! 😂He was very kind and said same trainer in junior section is much cheaper instead of about £40 I paid £28 as they go up to 5 or 5 1/2😉of course I didn't need another pair, but hey they are nice😂
Does M & S stand for something more? I’m in the US.
I found M & S. Thank you!
Marks & Spencer (M&S) was founded in my home city of Leeds in 1884! Still going strong all over the UK today. A favourite of this nation. Especially for it’s lovely underwear.
Here in the US it was Sears & Roebuck founded in 1893 that was a family favorite with affordable clothing for kids and everyone. They also sold furniture and appliances and Christmas gifts of all kinds. They unfortunately closed as they lost a lot of business to online shopping. Of course, Macy’s (formerly Bamberger’s) is still in the running. 😊
Have you tried Bravissimo? Miss Mary of Sweden are great or Royce may have something. Bras are a problem and in lockdown just saved myself the trouble of wearing them. Now have boobs down to my knees. 🤣🤣
🤣🤣thank you Wobbies, should you now be Wobblies?? Take care
There was an article in a mag or paper recently about boob shape changing due to lockdown and no bras.
Interesting, suppose I can't be the only one who went freestyle. Trouble is got too used to it, now finding bra an even bigger inconvenience. Good job I lost my dignity years ago. 😆
I think many of us let ourselves swing and relax a bit!! I am wearing some M&S strappy Lycra support vests which hold me in place very nicely and no digging in metal bits!
What a good idea. Will try them.
I have been going braless most of the time since covid started too. With my shoulders and hands the way they have been lately, it is hard to put them on. When I do wear one, I'm not used to it anymore and I can feel it digging into my ribs. Vests and cardigans do provide some modesty, but it is getting hot. I think i might look for some that fasten in front.
Perhaps we all need to start a company that makes pretty, comfortable front opening bras...we could make a fortune😊
I think I will too as if they rub on the back they can wear my skin off it’s so sensitive. The Lycra and cotton vests from M&S are really good though.
I am sorry to hear that Neonkittie
💗 It’s if the piece of fabric covering the hooks isn’t long enough ... some bra manufacturers cut corners .. even the better ones! .. it exposes the metal and it irritates the skin. I am very sensitive to elastic, latex and anything that can offend the skin that way!
Our boobs were sent to try us. Hope you have found comfortable ones Neonkittie.
As others plus I got some basic ones on Amazon too
For curvaceous ladies like us it’s a real problem to find front opening bras with adequate support. That’s why I went back to wearing my bras from Bravissimo with the back extenders. Top tip: a little talc around the chest makes it much easier to rotate the bra around your body after you’ve done it up at the front!
Try phoning Bravissimo for help. Or Ample Bosom!
My cousin was a Bravissimo sales advisor for years. All the time she worked there they didn’t do small enough bras for me and now she’s left I got bigger!
JD Williams go up to FF and have front openers. Damart used to as well as my Mum preferred those.
Yes and to be honest I don't like them. I got from Marisota as M&S didn't do any but if you Google you'd be surprised what comes up. My husband thought some looked really good (pervy though) . I'm a common size and I think Fantasia made them. M&S I think now do a zip up sports bra which might be nice and they now stock other brands like Berlie too.
I wear a comfort bra from m&s a bit like a sports bra but with a full cup no straps ( kinda looks like a crop top but more supportive) so easy to put on.
Try yours clothing online,I'm 42j so always have trouble finding bras to fit. They do front fastining and also sports like bras which are easy to put on.
I buy front fastening, but mine are not very supportive. I imagine with that size you need good support.
Mine are more like cotton vest type things, as I cannot bear a bra.
Even my cotton vest type has to come off after teatime, and I don't even get dressed until.the afternoon
Studio catalogue do front opening bras that are comfortable to wear and BM do nice stretchy sports type bras, both are reasonable price.. Hope you find some to suit you.
My shoulder has been playing me up badly these past few weeks and I’ve been wondering about front fastening myself. At the moment I’m doing like everyone says on here, fasten at front then swivel it around!!! 😊
I bought my Mum two from JD Williams and she found them very comfortable especially as she was bed bound.
I used them for decades. Then I switched to seamless ones with no openings at all which are even better. Available on internet. Con amore Bx
Have you looked on Amazon?
Yes I have AgedCrone, it’s finding the FF which is the problem.
If you were thinking of taking out a mortgage to buy a bra...look on Rigby & Pellar’s website! 👙
Wow they are pricey🤣
But they are drop dead gorgeous & comfortable .When I was working my office was close to their shop in Knightsbridge & I did indulge a few times....but these days they are just a distant memory.....but I do still go money mad on shoes!!
My sister took me there for my 50 th birthday treat. Had to take bra off and the lady could tell by just looking at me what size I am and she was quite right. Actually saw All Saints in there being fitted with bustiers for their next video. Got Wan was master of ceremonies. That was a fun experience.
I tried front fastening but as a 44DD I found the 5 hooks at the front dug into me and hurt. I can’t wear wired for the same reason. Mind you my sternum is quite tender so that’s probably my problem. Like others I haven’t wore a bra much for a year unless I go for an appointment. It’s been heaven 😉
I have 2 front opening bras that I’ve had for years. The big problem I found was my FF boobies like you. To put it bluntly, not only did I find them very awkward to put on, keeping my large boobies out of the way to attempt to fasten it was pretty impossible. Front fastening bras have more hook and eyes than a conventional one so if you also have sore/stiff fingers it’s pretty difficult and painful. I gave up and went back to my conventional bras and doing what everyone else does even though it hurts my shoulders to twist it round. Big boobies are a pain in more ways than one . 😂😂😂
I also wear sports bras when not out and about. Just climb in and pull up no hooks or eyes to fight with lol. Not many places do nice front fasting bras. Companies seem to think only nice bras can be done back only. How about we all send a complaint to all bra companies about it.
Bravisimo have one front fastening bra that goes to a G and Ample bosom has a couple, but apparently are American cup size so you may need to go bigger than usual. I need bigger, so cant give a review. I recently bought the sleep bra from bravisimo which is lovely and soft with no wire, but leaves you with a monoboob. As you can see this is an issue close to my heart lol.I find the doing up and spin easier if you have material under it, like doing it up over high waisted pants or a thin scarf or sarong. I learnt this back home in Australia, trying to put a bra on after a swim when you are slightly damp as its too humid to get properly dry.
Yes we are not well catered for are we! I wonder if Dolly Parton has a problem? 😂
She has the money to have them specially made I suspect
Probably has a maid/dresser to put her bra on for her! 😁
Oh that’s a good idea Nadine, thank you. I have millions of scarves😃
Just had an idea - get a "low back bra converter" for a bra you already find comfy. Instant straps to fasten round the front!
Have You tried the internet Amazon Uk site for front opening bras.
They have them but not for anyone past a D really.
I wear sports bras. My daughter in law sent for them from USA, where she used to live, cheap as chips. I am fairly small but I ordered the extra large as they are easier to get on being so stretchy. . All my life I have has straps slipping down off my shoulders, but no more!! "Ample Bosom" is situated near to where I live in Yorkshire , worth a try for traditional bras
You can get from a company called adapt a wear call 08085067933Or Damart - good luck
I am sure Bras were invented at the time of the Spanish Inquisition to keep us all in check! Thank you for all the addresses though I will be spending the day bra-perusing the airwaves or e waves ?
I’ve found Asda are brilliant for non wired support bras they’re really cheap too. Fit like a glove and very comfortable. I think they do a zip up front fastening one too but know I’d really struggle with that. I didn’t have a problem getting a 42D size which most of the shops don’t sell. I bought 4 new ones recently and they’re awesome.
Just bought one on yours website. We should all do a review!
I spotted a rather gorgeous front fastening bralette on the Bravissimo website today and that comes in larger cup sizes. I might just have to treat myself ...
