Just watched the Nuns story. Haven’t watched for years although reread the book last year.

My favourite Audrey Hepburn film I think.

I also love that film and have seen it many times. I have also read the book twice. I remember being horrified at the bit in the film where a man attacks one of the nuns with an axe which he puts though her head and she carried on walking towards him like that before falling down on the ground.

It’s amazing it hasn’t been remade.. although I think it’s such a classic it would spoil it. I wish there was a follow up. Would love to know how she coped and if she ever returned to the Congo.

That Scene where the nun was attacked was great no need for graphics. It’s the ark angel that spooks me .

Oh yes, that bit where the ark angel attacks with such violence is horrifying.

Oh my goodness I cant watch it, it scared me witless as a child , my mum thought it would inspire me to be a nun, no ....yikes I had nightmares!

Nuns were not very forgiving or understanding at the end... I went to convent school . Nuns didn’t inspire me .. a friend did become a nun . She joined a silent order.. never could understand as she never shut up. I believe she left after 5 years 😂

I was at a convent school too. Worst years of my life those 6 years!!! Cruel and no empathy, but I had one English teacher who wasnt a nun who was fantastic!

Yes nuns were bitches it’s amazing how we managed to marry and have children as boys were the devil in human form 😂😂

Our boys were in a monastery actually across the road from the convent. The nuns and priests stood in the middle of the road all the way to town to stop us crossing ....but when we got to town 😂😂

😂😂it would make a great comedy.. a bit like Derry girls . We had a nun just like that 😂
