I’m on mtx r we supposed to stop it two weeks before and after pneumonia shot?

No I had mine last year with flu jab didn’t stop my mtx

There is research that says the vaccines might be more effective if you stop your drugs for 1/2 weeks before, but few doctors do this.

I'm getting my vaccine this week and was told I didn't need to stop methotrexate.

I’m not on MTX but my rheumy nurse advised me to wait 6-8 weeks after my last Rituximab infusion before I have my flu jab.

No. I had one in March and didn’t stop taking mtx or benepali

Not that I'm aware of. I've been taking methotrexate for 22 years and have had 2 pneumococcal vaccines without having to stop. Always wise to check of course.

My consultant has me stop for two weeks total around the time of vaccinations and also when taking antibiotics. I think opinions vary.
