Hi there . I applied for pip on 22nd Jan, sent it in march they have got it as it was over the month but within the remainder date . How long to wait for a f2f if I have 1 as I sent in lots of medical . I'm under neurologist for a stroke mimic I had last year still which has a detrimental effect on my daily living . Also under gynocologist which i just had a opperation in Feb hence why my form went in a bit late . Do u think a f2f wd be compulsory or would they base it on what evidence they have from my consultants n hospital admitions n appointment s . Also do they do the claim from the call or from the date they got the pup2 form bk ? . As it's been 6 weeks over since I made the call . Kindest regards

Thank you for your reply . So I guess I just sit bk n wait from them . If I dont hear bk I think I give them a call after easter x

It all depends where you live on time. But if this your first application you will need a f2f 🙄. Check they have received the application. Mine apparently got lost in the post. And they claimed subsequent forms were late but I paid for a signed delivery’s had proof it had arrived on time. If you get pip it is backdated to the initial phone call when you requested the form.

Request a Home Visit - ask your GP to write letter in support and post in with Nat. Insurance No. on it

No! It doesn’t chivvy them along unfortunately. If you do receive PIP though your award is backdated to when you first requested the application form.

They should pay you ftom the date they receive your form even though it takes them time to agree it.

More ifren than not, they turn it down so APPEAL!!

I hope they deal with it soon!

I found out today my forms are with a company Atos or something. They said it's with a assessor atm . They said they are working it out as instead of a f2f at a center they might do a home visit. They said I get a letter in the post or a tx to confirm what 1 ,n a date . They said if I dont hear from them in a few weeks to call them bk . So I'm gonna try forget about it as its stressing me the hell out not knowing . I'm gonna see my gp to see if she can write a report about my health n how difficult I find daily life . I'm like feel stupid today as I tried cooking pasta and I didn't realise I forgot to turn the hob on .my partner realised it I feel totally useless. Then I forgot as memory not gd at all I took veg out of the microwave n my partner asked me what's in the microwave I said veg ,he opened the door n nothing in it . What am I doing . As from tomorrow I'm banned from the kitchen. My kids try to make me feel better n laugh it of but I just cry n shout as my lil head ain't working like it used to . Feel a let down to my family n worthless , ppl dont understand me any more . Sorry maybe should just go bed n try again tomorrow . Night all xx

I’ve been there bloody brain fog it comes and goes.. I wonder if f2f at this moment in time will happen? Do you take Biologics? If you do your immune system is compromised

I hope you felt better after a good night's sleep!! You are not alone! I am extremely forgetful and find it very challenging to cope on a daily basis.

Who knows anything anymore . I think if they have enough evidence and the form they should do telephone consultations like the doctors do and for now base dessition s on that and later when this epedemic of corona virus has been sorted then go for a f2f . To protect ppl save money and time for every 1 involved . Not sure if this will happen but it's just my opinion if it counts x

Hiya Wolf221400, welcome. You're unlikely to be that fortunate unfortunately. Generally you have an assessment when you first apply for PIP, sometimes it's not necessary for the renewal, it depends if much has changed & whether the included medical proof agrees, but that's not applicable for you right now it being your first application.

It can depend on which agency is assessing you I'm afraid. When I first applied I had a long wait, 8 months, but I was being checked for eligibility (habitual residence test) as I'd been living out of the country for the previous 11 years even though I applied after I'd been eligible for over a year after I'd returned to the UK. Not that they informed me despite calling the DWP 4 times to see what the delay was. At the mo it can take around 14 weeks, though it can be longer at times, it depends on how many have applied at any one time & when they received your application. All of this is under normal circumstances of course! So I think you’ve as long to wait again I'm afraid. The only consolation is that we're all the same, except those who are terminally ill & not expected to live longer than 6 months, they are fast forwarded & have no assessment.

Anyway, as long as you’ve sent enough info to support your claim, you've gathered as much information from your Rheumatologist, Neurologist, Gynaecologist & any other Specialists who's care you’re under plus Physio, Occupational Therapists & anyone else you see relating to managing your conditions then you’ve done all you can. It's just the last hurdle of the assessment date you've to wait for, & the assessment itself of course.

Fingers crossed for an appropriate outcome. If you need any more help however we'll be happy to help if we can, just ask. 🤞🏼

Thank you so much for all the info . Yes I have sent in everything from appointment I had and opperation also consultant reports and repeat prescriptions also my DWP report on lower ability to work which I was accepted straight away also more appointments yet to have in April and may. Gosh this is tedious already . Not looking forward to a f2f it was bad enough with DWP in November last year . They will review me for that again it says moderate on the end . Whatever moderate means ? Anyway ur a star hope you feel better soon or well get some rest n try sleep if u can take care for now x
