I was diagnosed with RA in May 2018 and was completely floored by the thought of a disease for life. Of course I did the wrong thing and searched everything I could find on line and was even more depressed by what I read and the overwhelmingly negative and frightening comments particularly about meds. I could have so easily be put off from taking them. I was also amazed by the number of people who told me not to take them and that I would be fine if I changed my diet, took this supplement or some other. I decided to trust my rheumatologist take meds (methotrexate and Hydroxy) and only access trusted online articles. I found very few chat rooms that didn’t leave me depressed ( including Versus Arthritis). Finding Health Unlocked has been amazing. So informative, positive responses - even with difficult topics. I am so happy to have found you and so just want I say thank you. 😀

Common sense really and RA is not a death sentance just another blip in the course of life. It is a fact of modern life that Dr Google is frightening, hilarious and truly disturbing so much humour is needed along with a good dose of sceptism along with the medications. lol xx

I agree just to talk to people with the same things going on as you have makes you feel you are not on your own x

O dear. Big mistake. I looked online at a T K R. Thought I was looking at a Ferrari rotating on a stand in a showroom !!! Lol. Be aware but keep in perspective and rely on your gut feeling. You learn to live and adapt along the way. Speaking from one who has had it for 32 years now. I wish you well. Have a good day. Take care xxxx

Hi joolsJB, just wanted to say I liked your words about Versus Arthritis site. I went on it briefly recently, and was not impressed . Found the layout difficult to navigate, and the threads felt sort of incomplete, and patchy.
