Thank you NRAS

NRAS have been so helpful as I wasn’t sure if it was right for me to return to work when Boris announced schools were to reopen. So much conflicting information even NRAS said it changes on a daily basis. I had a telephone conversation with NRAS yesterday where they were not sure what to advise and said they would get someone to ring me probably on Tuesday due to the bank holiday. I received a phone call this morning . I was helped tremendously and understood completely. No stone was left unturned. Armed with all the information gained from NRAS I rang work and I explained everything. They excepted a copy of my text telling me to shield until 30th June ( thanks to NRAS) . I explained that now I was no longer classified as vulnerable as information had changed and although I was worried about returning to work and distancing I would return. My head knows I have RD he asked to confirm my meds. I’m on 2 immunosuppressants he checked on his chart from the D&E and I’m classified as vulnerable and not allowed to return to work.( yet another contradictory chart)He was very understanding and I’m relieved that I know where I stand.

Thank you NRAS for arming me with information that gave me the confidence to deal with this.

I am so pleased that you have had some great support from NRAS and a useful conversation with your head too. Great news that you now have some clarification on where you stand. It is all as clear as mud sadly isn’t it and so much conflicting information. x

Great news - the main thing is that we are each supported to do what is right for us personally and it's great that you've finally got things clarified. Now just relax and enjoy the nice weather 😊😎

Hi J1707, are they sending letters again to extend the shielding period? I had a letter from the NHS and The department of Health and Social Care to shield for 12 weeks. So are we expecting to get another letter for extension for shielding? Thanks

in reply toSezvic

The texts said continue to shield until 30th June they were sending a letter to follow but who knows. I have a friend shielding because she has just had a kidney transplant she hasn’t had anything since the text either. It truly is a mess things change on a daily basis. NRAS said it’s so contradictory .

Thanks for the reply. I’m on immune suppressant and I work on a respiratory ward 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m so anxious to go back. I wish they send the letter soon. I’m supposed to go back to work on the 15 June.

Did you receive the text?

I received the text first time for the 12 weeks. But not for the extension one.x

Oh that makes it more difficult. I think it’s best to have a chat with your immediate boss or HR talk about your concerns and see if they can give safer duties. My cousin is a sister on a oncology ward. They gave her alternative duties and that took her away from patient contact.
