They seem to be in the press at the moment as being beneficial to us RA sufferers. Has anyone tried them?

on this thread, it says "Cheers all: it’s a good one for back up the next time someone mentions turmeric 🤣 hope you’re all doing well xxx" so in all ignorance, I am suggesting it for you. Hope it helps
My rheumatologist recommends 500 mg, of turmeric twice a day. I started taking it the end of December, at the same time I started leflunomide. I'd already been on methotrexate for a few months at that point. So although I take turmeric I can't say how much it's helping (or not) and how much the two DMARDs are helping.
Took two capsules daily for one month and it made no difference to my RA 🤗 X
Been taking it for three years. Hasn’t made any difference, but I’m continuing to take it as it can’t hurt.
Ive been taking Turmeric for 4 years now and it has really helped me, I don’t take the capsule form but the spice on to food uncooked. It won’t work unless you add black pepper. To notice the difference you have to keep taking it every day, I use to hate it but now love it on toasted breads with mackerel and olives. I know sounds awful but it’s very tasty. My son researched this during his meds and he strongly recommends it. Give it a good go. 🤗
May I ask how it has helped you Ladybird?
It’s helped me with Inflammation levels for my RA and I’m generally feeling better than I did. I also have Diverticulitis so I take Turmeric along with Buckwheat grains as well and helps my colon too. I take it regularly every day 2 tesp min. I started with the turmeric well before any other food changes or disease modifying medications. So I was able to see that it was helping me. I am now on an anti-inflammatory diet. Hope this helps
Do you not take any meds at all now then ? Sounds good, I’m glad it’s worked for you
Oh really with black pepper? I usually do use both together anyhow. I really love it on savory dishes. eggs, chicken, gosh almost anything not sweet....though who knows? I hear it makes a good dye too. Perhaps for easter eggs?
I take it and MSM nightly. Can't hurt and might help. MSM is supposed to help with lungs too I also use the spice in food as I do like the taste, really good on chicken dishes. Adds a savory note. I tried ginger once, it too is supposed to help with inflammation. Got major heartburn. now I guess I know why I never liked that taste.
I used to take turmeric and black pepper until I noticed excessive bruising. The turmeric had thinned my blood which could have caused a stroke. Once I stopped my blood results went back to normal. So even though it’s effective at controlling pain it’s not without risks.
I think it's an individual thing. I have a friend that it worked great on (took a tablet that had black pepper too) but I tried it for 3 months with no notable difference.
I add it to stews , soups etc . Pukka make teabags with tumeric and ginger called Tumeric gold. Its supposed to help inflamation i think.
yes i take it every day and seeems to work
