Hi all,

Anyone having much joy with Turmeric supplements? I purchased some recently and I'm not sure if I'm imagining feeling better and having fewer flare ups.

Ricardo.

I 'm adding tumeric powder to stews, bolognese, soups and anything else I can get it into. Not sure if its helping though but makes me feel as if I am doing something positive n getting a bit of control back ??

My body isn't opposed to spices, in fact it welcomes them, so I do add a variety to my food regularly. I'm not sure whether any of them actually do help the RA, but I do feel some of them help boost my digestion and it's a nice way to make a soup or smoothie a bit more exotic. I just had a banana+kiwi+oats+turmeric+cinnamon smoothie for first breakfast (I wake up very early and work from home so most of my meals are some form of breakfast :D ) and it is such a great way to start the day - not too heavy and it makes sure my digestive system is awake before consuming more substantial meals. I wouldn't rely on things like that to do fighting inflammation on the frontline, but they're certainly a good addition to your diet if you're okay with spice intake in general.

Hi RicardoDC,

Very possible that turmeric may be helping you. It takes about 2-3 months to really start working... So don't give up. I take supplements and when I have time, drink it (Ayush Herbs Cocurcumin on Amazon). Some people don't notice a difference but there are some, like myself, that do feel it helps with pain. I even use Turmeric essential oil, along with Ginger essential oil and Copaiba essential oil with a carrier on any joints that are hurting and it really makes a difference.

Started tumeric with black pepper capsules yesterday. Heard it can take a few months to take affect (if it does at all) so I shall have to get back to you on that one! X

Rchardo I take turmeric capsules (curcuma ) with pipeline capsule these help with absorbing the curcuma which is the active ingredient in Tumeric.

I feel they are helping me even though I’ve been a bit rough recently due to a fall.Hope this helps.

Hi I tried the Turmeric tablet and it did not help me. Then I tried the curcuma with black pepper as advised and I do believe this helps reduce flare. Good luck

No matter if you imagine it or not. If you are feeling better, just enjoy it and carry on. It certainly won't harm you.

An extraordinary supplement with an extraordinary n ancient pedigree. You won't be imagining the improvement. It's probably the "gold" that went together with another two extraordinary spices/herbs: frankincense and myrrh.

Be well!

I take my turmeric in Golden Paste format stirred into milk twice a day. I've found it certainly helps reduce inflammation and I think it has helped with the OA pain. I haven't had a miracle cure that some claim to have had but I certainly know if I miss it for a few days like when I went away on business. All I can say is its worth giving it a try to see if you get any benefit.

P.s. I did try capsules but the golden paste seems to be much more effective

I took it and felt less pain immediately but then had an allergic reaction and had to stop taking it. Doc said I could try again and take less but so far, I haven’t.

Even if you imagine you're doing better (mind over matter) it can't hurt. What drugs are you on? Those are the things that work whether you think they do or not.

For me it's a great help, after months of golden paste and once it was in my system ( I now take tumeric and black pepper capsules) I don't take any pain killers unless I'm in a flare. Personally it works for me and I'll carry on taking it.

It is certainly talked about a lot and even some of the medical professions are thinking about it. A web site I have read states that tumeric helps especially in a more concentrated form and combined with fulvic acid. (can't remember why though). I have bottle of thickish tumeric extract with fulvic acid from a health food company. Have noticed a possible improvement with pain and symptoms if I take regularly along with everything else. But then I forget to keep taking it. So taking some tonight because there is pains due to RA and work.
