Head cold

Hello all, quick question:

Have any of you continued to take your dmard and biologic injections while also having a small head cold? I am not running a fever but my nose is a bit stuffed up. I will be asking my Rheumatologist but I was just curious about any of your experiences. I think I heard I am not supposed to take them if I am sick? Thanks in advance for any responses 🌸

Thank you for the suggestion, whaleroad, , yes I just recently started taking Humira and I really didn’t want to stop it if I didn’t have to so I will call their helpline and speak with one of their staff members. It is very difficult to stay away from sick people! Especially when going to grocery stores and such.

I was told not to worry about sniffles and colds unless I had a high temperature. So I've not stopped so far - but then I've not had more than a runny nose.

Oh good, helixhelix , I’m hoping that’s what they tell me! For having a weakened immune system, I’ve been relatively healthy so far 🙏🏼

I take Benepali and currently have a head cold. I will continue to take my Benepali.

Hello. Absolutely not. Colds are only a minor infection when our immune system can cope with the virus. So suppressing the defences against even a mild cold could make the situation worse.

I do not take any of those drugs anymore since I got a staph infection from them. I take 12000 mg of vitamin C liposomal daily so have not had a cold in a few years. I take iodine, boron, magnesium, vitamin D, 3 mg prednisone and meloxicam. Stay away from foods and body products that make you sore.
