Head cold again!!!!!! Update

Just got home from the gastro, I have stumped him again! No improvement after months of steroids, anti-spasmodic, and anti- diarrheal. Digestive issue is inflammation based, so until mtx kicks in there is little hope of improvement. Must wean off steroids and wait almost 3 weeks to take mtx again, rheumy made me choose between antibiotics and mtx. Need antibiotics more right now! Grrrrrrr!!!! What a choice be sick or be sick! At least I can rid myself of this head cold! 😰😒😵😤😴😷💊💉

So sorry that you are going through this. When I've had bouts of diarrhea, levaquin or doxycycline help me, but also sour cream and cottage cheese which not only have cultures, but also contain digestive enzymes. Try and see if it works for you. Hope that you get feeling better.

I eat a ton of yogurt, sour cream, and cottage cheese to no avail. Next step if methotrexate doesn't work is a Specialist 60 miles away in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt Hospital. This type of colitis is not curable only remissable.

Have you had a blood test called AMA? It’s positive in most who are diagnosed with PBC I had your symptoms and tested positive for this autoimmune disease.

Saw the rheumatologist today, she is testing me for PBC. She said most of my symptoms fit, but I don't have a rash.

Thankfully my rheumatologist is very prompt with test results, I should have them tomorrow!
