Following on from my post a year ago..
Can confirm that while the last 12 months havnt been without problems, ie infections, bronchial pneumonia & acute bronchitis, not to forget that awful “Aussie flu” I am managing my RA a lot better with the help of medication.
Methotrexate injections, sulphasalazine & naproxen have given me my life back
I would say 70% of the time, the biggest drawback being the fatigue which is considerable at times.
I do try & follow the “spoon system” but 9 times out of 10 I use them all up & crash & burn big time.. call it “ work in progress” lol as I am slowly coming to terms with this but as I am a person who hates to give in it is a challenge!
On top of this I have gained a stone in weight which gets to me
But again I think I feel a trip to join Slimming
World is coming on after my next holiday.. can’t have it all ways but I do hold those pesky steroid injections when I was at my worst to blame for this! 🙈
On the negative side my feet are getting worse & seem to change shape
Suddenly.. ie shoes that fit me last week either do not fit me this
week or suddenly feel too
Big.. I can see me taking a dozen pairs on holiday plus I now have a “Morton’s neuroma” under my left foot which gives me gyp!
All in all I just want to say for all you guys & gals starting your RA journey that there is light at the end of the tunnel , you will have some easier days, you will learn to cope with the pain & hopefully life will get a lot better for you all.. 💕😘
