Hi,I was wondering if anyone has tried the "Beneitsandwork" to assist with applying for PIP? I know it costs £20 for the year, but it would be worth it if i get PIP without having to go through tribunal again.
I did have CAB help me with filling in the paperwork, but I'm not too sure that it will help me, as she just copied what was written 2 yrs ago, and although I was refused, it went to tribunal and I managed to get standard rate care component.
I'd say no as the questions can be filled in without too much of a problem and if its online how do they know how you are. Depending on age I think I'd ask either /Age Concern, CAB or go direct to Gov.uk and look at guidence procedure. Even asking a relative would be a good idea but waste £20 you could for all you know be chatting to the teenager up the road its better to be face to face. Best of luck though whatever you decide to do.
looking at the website, it is a subscription service which gives you up-to-date information and helps with filling in the forms. That is providing the same service as CAB but on-line and with a subscription. Whether you would get your money's worth depends on the quality of the service they are providing, so I hope someone replies who has used them.
I think the advice from cab online and the nras pip booklet is just as good, more concise and free 😃

Yes you can: I paid out for benefits and work but tbh found the CAB site and nras book better and easier to understand. Good luck whatever you decide

I've got till 11th May to return the form. I have sent email to NRAS requesting pip booklet, to have a look at it.
I have been on "high care rate DLA" since 2006. I am now on standard rate, since 2016 and that was after a tribunal. The assessment was farcical. I could go on forever about this eejit of an assessor but I won't waste my breath.
I don't know what Universal Credit has to do with PIP..
I used B & W,with 92 pages of advice you wont find that much information in detail anywhere else. NRAS is very good, but B & W concentrate on benefits, returned the form last week.I made copies of every thing I sent just in case. Don't know yet if £19 well spent.
Benefits and Work website is worth every penny and more. Knowing 'how' to answer the questions is key: the guides on this site help you to formulate your answers to truly reflect the effects of your condition on your daily life.
Hi Sule, unfortunately I don't use paypal anymore, and I don't know worldpay, so I am unable to access the information from Benefits and work. I did download a specimen copy ... that was interesting to say the least.
You can still use your credit card/debit card with Worldpay. It is, in my experience, a trusted payment platform. You don't need to set anything up, nor do you need to set up an account.
I would say it's definitely worth every penny. The site is full of extremely helpful information. It does take a while to go through all the information but most definitely worth it. Good luck.
I think the whole PIP assessment/ tribunal thing is dependent on who you see at your face to face meeting. The first assessor I had was a very young guy with no medical background and I was awarded standard rate. On my follow up assessment I had an ex nurse in her fifties and was awarded higher rate with no further assessments till 2023!
I think you're right bevlin. When I read what the "assessor" wrote.. I was just so angry about the lies. If this goes to a tribunal again, I am taking my daughter, husband or sister with me.
I've been a member of Benefits & Work website for years and always follow their guidance when completing ESA or PIP forms. The membership fee is offered at a reduced rate for subsequent years and personally, I wouldn't use any other advice. I've always had success filling in forms myself using their well-written Guides. An absolute must for DIY DWP form-fillers.
In fact, it may well be that CAB use B&W Guides anyway. The site is run by a Solicitor and Barrister who know their stuff and keep everything up to date.
I would definitely go with DWP site It helped me so much. As most have said here it is run very professionally and you can ask questions to the members. The people running the site fight for our rights. It's definitely worth it, add as much information as you can adding more on to seperate sheets of paper with ref to each question. Try to write a typical day by day what it's like for you, remember it's all about how your disability affects you. Have as much medical evidence as you can, a doctors letter helps too and copy everything for when you have your face to face and have someone there with you. I hope everything goes good for you it is a very tiring and exhausting thing to go through
