Good thoughts Please! !

This little guy has an urgent vet appointment tomorrow. He hasn't been eating unless he's coaxed and then just a few bites. He'll drink on his own but again, not much. He's only 3 years old and a chow hound usually. Very worried kitty mama!

Aww I hope he's alright and it is his teeth as I've had young and old cats who wanted to eat but then stopped as they had sore teeth/gums. One used to get a lot of plague despite him being given a good diet and biscuits to help clean them. He just had mote dental issues then most cats for no apparent reason. Ended up with a six monthly dental hygienist appointment at the vet! Good luck. Lovely cat. 😻xx

Update: Remy has a major infection and will be in hospital on IV antibiotics for 3 days. He is in good hands as I used to work at his vet. Thank you all so much for the good thoughts! I will update as his vet updates me.

Aw bless. Positive vibes for tomorrow. They are a worry when things like this happen, you just wish they could talk to you & tell you how they feel. Hope it's nothing too concerning. Keep us updated. x

Poor Remy, and you, you must be worried,

Still, as you say Remy is in the best place for him now. Whats the nature of his infection? Urine or dental? I'm guessing he's on antibiotics now. Some are well known for causing vomiting and have diarrhoea I'd decline clavamox/synulox if it were me, seen as he's already dehydrated.

Keep us posted!

He got into a fight with the neighborhood devil stray...we had thought that his injuries had healed but they found infected spot on his face.

Since he's never had antibiotics before, he's on amoxicillin. I'll get an update after surgery hours at his vet so I'll update then.

Thanks for the good thoughts!

Update: Remy has to stay another night. His fever is down but he declines to eat for them. I asked them to try a food with some veggies, especially spinach, it in his favorite food.

Again thanks for all the good wishes for my baby!

Hope he eats better soon,

I had to feed my kitty just licking bits from my finger when she was sick. Trouble is they can be traumatized for a day or so after coming home as being in the hospital can shake them up good and proper.

Coming into this post kind of late so it's good to hear he's doing well. Such a worry, our kitty was called Frank when he arrived and Fat Frank many years later when he died aged 19.

He used to get into fights with his arch nemesis, a poor old stray that looked like a doormat but boy could it fight and Frank having come to us as a rescue cat fought back - well he had a lovely new home. He used to end up with abscesses from bites like your kitty had. You couldn't really see them and so they looked like they had cleared up but it was all going on underneath.

We had one cat who used to lick the jelly off his food then not want the rest but a good sprinkle of tropical fish food over it soon solved that problem. Good luck with your little guy, hope it's not long before he's eating you out of house and home 🐈 (Sorry no black cats)

Thank you! Remy's doing much better. He actually got to go outside this morning for a bit-he doesn't approve of doing his "business" in the house!

Thanks,

Dani and Remy
