I have RA and have been on MTX and plaquenil for 6months- time for a change says my rheumatologist. He's offering Simponi Aria infusion or Humira pens. (I went from mild to moderate RA in 6 months.) I'm anxious after reading both info packets, can anyone share their experiences with either or both drugs?

I took Humira for 14 months until it stopped working. When I started, it worked pretty quickly, the only side effect was a crashing headache the next day or two but as time went on, it gradually reduced until I had nothing. If you have Humira, take it out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you use it. It stings a fair bit but as soon as it's injected and finished, it's fine. Towards the end I started getting a site reaction but didn't cause any problem. If it works for you it's great. Good luck. Clemmie
I wish I had your Rheumy! Only 6 months & starting an anti-TNF? Only kidding, you are fortunate though, many with moderate RD would think themselves fortunate to have the choice of either. I hope whichever you choose is the right one for you & makes a big difference.🙂
Hi blythgirl Can I ask you if you live in the uk. At the moment I have moderate disease activity and I can't have biologics as disease activity is lower than 5.1. Last review 4.7
Did you end up going with / sticking with Symponi Aria? I just had my first infusion a couple weeks ago. I'm taking it alongside Methotrexate. Which is odd to me considering I was on Methotrexate alone for 9 months and it didn't help at all. I pretty much have to go with whatever the insurance company offers.
Anyway... I can't find much info on Symponi Area. Would love to hear other's experience. Thanks.
