Get the finger scissors out.

Last night I took a sleeping tablet. I didn't hear my hubby come to bed, and slept through til about 7:00. Got up, took my MTX after breakfast. I have been feeling down all day. Had a light snoozette, for about an hour.

Had tea, but I still feel down. And now to add to it all, my finger tips hurt. I want to find the scissors and cut them off. They are hot and achy.

I think that my downness, is due to being housebound as I am off sick. But my fingers...if I used swear words I would make a sailor blush.

I am hoping for a good night's sleep with out the tablet, but I may need to hit the painkillers.

When will this all end.

Jacqui

I know - sometimes I think "If only I could just cut off my hands above the wrists!" but like everything else at some stage it passes and I forget about it being so painful (well, there anyway!)

As well as pain killers I find hot and cold bathing, wax baths and distraction all help.

wax baths are wonderful!

Sorry you're going through all this, Jacqui.

Just a thought, have you tried taking the MTX before bed at night? I take mine last thing on a Thursday night because I know I don't have to get up early next day and can effectively sleep off the side effects. It works for me.

Obviously that doesn't deal with the finger issue but may help with the down-ness. But if you need the sleeping tablet and painkillers - do take them! Don't suffer any more than you have to.

Sending healing hugs

I agree with allywelshdragon, take MXT before going to bed and sleep off most of the side effects, you may still be a bit woosy the next morning but that will wear off. I find plunging my hot hands into cold water helps and keeping them busy.

Thank you for your support. I had a bad night. So sleeping tablet tonight.

I will be changing my MTX time back to Saturday night.

Today the job is to slowly turn the sitting room round to decorate for Christmas. Has to be slow, hubby is also unwell.

Hi Jacqui - I'm sorry for how bad you feel. We are going to decorate for Christmas too next weekend, and I told my hubby he has to help if we are going to get everything up. Fortunately, he is feeling well so that is a wonderful thing. Good luck in getting everything done that you want to. Smart girl - low and slow is a good way to go with RA.

Can you try and get out, esp when the sun is shining? I've been housebound too and my partner gets me out most days, just to somewhere like a park where we can sit in the car and look. It helps a lot.
