Can anyone recommend some good socks to wear? The ones I have with seams, hurt my toes, particularly underneath. Most sites I have visited all have diabetic friendly ones but no mention of arthritis sufferers
COMFORTABLE SOCKS: Can anyone recommend some good socks... - NRAS
COMFORTABLE SOCKS
I like 40 denier opaque knee highs, the ones with fleece lining, in fact I bought some more on spec the other day in Home Bargains for 99p & they're as good as the El Corte Ingles ones I bought years ago for far more! I think you can get them most anywhere without seams though.
I have M & S socks they are ladies super soft, they have very soft tops and sold in packs of 5, with my deformed feet they are the first Ladies socks I have been able to wear, normally I have men's with a soft top. They do have a seam round the toe but are so soft you don't feel it, and believe me I have very sensitive feet. X
The diabetic friendly ones don't have seams, so they are the ones you're after. Are we allowed to link on here? If not google; "seam free, soft top socks". They're easy to get online. Not cheap but they're good quality material and last ages.
Hi there
I find the m&s thermal socks very comfortable, i have very cold feet so they are also warmer. I hope you find pairs you like soon🌸
I like M&S thermal socks, but if you can knit or have a knitting friend, handknit are the very best of all - all sorts of adjustments can be made to fit you perfectly and they are seamless.
I haven't worn socks or tights for years and tend to live in sandals or bare foot. Far more comfortable. I only wear actual shoes if I really have to.
If you have Amazon search arthritis and whatever you are looking for 100s of things where I mostly get my gloves and such from, I've ordered some socks for when I'm walking because my feet get so sore wearing boots and such... going to Amsterdam soon so want to be cosy and not complaining all day.
I like the M & S ones too, however I have knitted for years and learnt to knit socks recently and now I make my own so I can tailor them to my feet and all their lumpy bumpy bits.
If you are wearing shoes and the seam bothers you just turn them inside out
turn them insideout! also get soft top mens sox great for diabetes and RA puffy ankles xx
Cat woman try 'bamboo' socks, no really, socks made from bamboo. I have a pair on me as we speak. They are thee softest feeling ever. I got some for my mother with no elastic at the top and she just loves them too. I got them in Matalan. I also got some online too so have a look, they are so, so very soft.....feels like I'm not wearing any at all. X
Hi catwoman4 - It's funny - I just ordered some from Hanes called the "Softest socks in the world" and I believe they might actually be - they feel WONDERFUL! The style number is 113376. They are nylon and polyester, which I ordered by accident - Usually I only do cotton, but these are marvelous socks
I've looked everywhere for socks my feet are 8E wide and if they are the slightest bit tight, leave deep marks in my legs. They need to be thin enough to go in shoes as well ,so I've opted for ankle high ones from where the tights are sold. Still makemarks round my ankle but warmer than bare feet. Mine get very cold as I have remarks and cmt.
Cat woman look up Odd socks on the net. The are very comfortable and brightly coloured.
I call them my happy socks, they brighten up my feet which are terribly painful.
Regards Mike
My most comfortable socks are my bridgedale walking socks. they come in different sizes and thicknesses. no seam and super comfy with extra padding on the base and round the heel.
