Driving made more comfortable.

As I'm only 6months with diagnosis, i'm new to most of this so its great that you all share tips.I am excited about the hand supports.I have been wearing leather gloves to ease the problem but I will be getting the supports and thanks for that.My physio advised a steering wheel cover, I got a thick padded grey one you wouldn't even notice it but the difference is amazing I can drive further and with very little discomfort,I will use the gloves as well on a bad day.Its trying to lead a fairly normal life and finding things to manage to do this.Any advice on further disguised aids welcome.P.S the steering wheel cover is hard to get on, I had to wait a few days till I located a strong man!!!!!

Thats what they are fo for help a damsel in distress!! I am glad you have found this site useful we are a great bunch of people on here and we cheer others up when they are suffering and yes we do moan. I also wear fingerless gloves and they are really good when my hands get very cold.

Hiya

I got hand and wrist supports which are so helpful but just to let you know you I was told not to drive in them. As sylvie says though the fingerless gloves are great. Also from this site I got advice about warm wax hand baths that you can buy on the internet which are lovely for the pain and my best buy particularly in the winter again told to me here was a fleecy electric throw which is wonderful when the pain is bad in the winter and I love it!!!

Good luck and keep coping!!

AAArgh just typed along message which hasnt been put up!!! so to save my hands briefly

I got the wrist and hand support , they are great but I was told not to drive in them!

2 great ideas i got on here was for hand pain if you buy a hot wax hand bath it really helps the pain and the best buy was a brown fleecy over throw which is heated and brilliant in the winter when your joints hurt.

Keep on coping well.
