I am travelling to australia from the uk soon, and I am wondering if I should consider getting some compression socks for the flight. My RA is under reasonable control, but I still suffer from swelling, this often effects me more at the end of the day when I have been on my feet all day?
Any info gratefully received
Thanks

I've had a dvt and pe's and would say yes and keep hydrated and move about too. but its vital to be measured so would not buy on the internet but from a stockist where they can advise you which size to get.
I flew to Oz and used runners compression socks which were fine and I had no issues unlike other flights where I wore non and had joint flare ups even on short flights
Absolutely. I live in Aus and it is a long plane trip to go anywhere, I also swell badly and compression stockings are the only thing that keep it somewhat under control. Also get up and move frequently, do foot and ankle exoercises while sitting. It all helps
Use flight socks I didn’t and sufferd with awful pain in my legs coming back
Another tip use, spray or cream to prevent insect bites I git bitten by a contaminated mossy and it gave me Ross River Fever which triggard RA and I’m really suffering
I wear compression socks all the time. It helps my ankles. I had DVTs years ago so have been a believer in them ever since. There are different strengths so ask your doctor. I am glad you are thinking ahead.
